How do I select multiple emails?

  1. Select the first email using one of the following methods:
    • Method 1. Tap on the sender's avatar in the message bar.
    • Method 2. Tap and hold the message bar.
  2. Select other messages by tapping on them.

How can I disable email forwarding and notifications?

You can configure push notifications and synchronization for each folder separately:

  1. Pull the screen to the right.

  2. Tap Settings (under the list of folders and labels).

  3. Select the account where you want to receive notifications and synchronize selected folders.
  4. In the Notify of new messages field, select one of the following options for each folder:
    • Sync and notify me — the folder syncs in the background and you receive new email notifications.
    • Sync without notification — the folder syncs in the background and you don't receive new email notifications.
    • Do not sync — the folder syncs only if you open it.
      Attention. When you disable email uploads, notifications are disabled as well. You can't disable email loading while enabling notifications about new messages.

I'm not receiving notifications about incoming messages

This might be happening for one of the following reasons:

Notifications are disabled in the app settings

Enable notifications:

  1. Pull the screen to the right.

  2. Tap Settings (under the list of folders and labels).

  3. Select the account where you want to receive notifications and synchronize selected folders.
  4. In the Notify of new messages field, select one of the following options for each folder:
    • Sync and notify me — the folder syncs in the background and you receive new email notifications.
    • Sync without notification — the folder syncs in the background and you don't receive new email notifications.
    • Do not sync — the folder syncs only if you open it.
      Attention. When you disable email uploads, notifications are disabled as well. You can't disable email uploads and enable notifications at the same time.
The app isn't running in background mode

You don't receive notifications if background mode is disabled for Yandex.Mail in your phone settings. Go to your phone settings and make sure that this option is enabled. If it's not, enable it.

The app doesn't launch automatically when you turn on your phone
You don't receive notifications if autorun is disabled for Yandex.Mail in your phone settings, Go to your phone settings and make sure that autorun is enabled. If it's not, enable it.
Power-saving mode is enabled

Power-saving mode usually blocks notifications. Go to your phone settings and make sure that power-saving mode is disabled. If it's not, disable it.

It's also possible that the power-saving mode turns on automatically when your battery is low.

A power-saving or speed booster app is installed

Apps that help extend battery life or speed up your phone might impact notifications. For example, the CM Locker app uses a feature that restricts all notifications on the phone. Make sure that such apps aren't installed on your phone, otherwise delete them.

Where can I find the address book?

The app doesn't currently have an address book. When composing an email, start entering the recipient's name or address in the To field, and the app will suggest possible matches.

Why doesn't the app icon appear in the notification center?

The new version of the app receives email information without a permanent connection to the server, which helps save battery life. This is why the connection icon is not displayed in the notification center.

There's no connection to the server

Check whether you have internet access (the Yandex.Mail app doesn't open when you're offline):

  • Are you connected to a mobile network?
  • Do you have sufficient phone credit?
  • Can you use another internet connection, like Wi-Fi?

I forgot my password. What do I do?

You can recover your forgotten password on the access recovery page.

I forgot my login. What do I do?

If you forgot your username, try to use the tip on the password recovery page. The tip can help if you recently accessed your Yandex account on the same mobile phone.

Also, try to reach out to people you have corresponded with — your recipients might remind you which email address you emailed them from.

Emails have disappeared from the mailbox

If you accidentally deleted your emails, or your emails have disappeared, try searching for them in the Trash folder (messages in this folder are available for 30 days after being deleted). To recover your emails:

  1. Go to the Trash folder.
  2. Select an email or multiple emails. To select an email, tap on the sender's avatar in the message bar.

  3. Tap  → Move to folder.

  4. Select the folder you want to move the email to.

If you can't find your missing emails in the Trash folder, it probably means there's no way to recover them.

If you didn't delete the emails, follow these steps:

  1. In the Yandex.Mail web interface, go to the Yandex.Mail log and see the information about your mailbox activities over the past week.
  2. Change your password on the Yandex.Passport page. Make sure you comply with email security rules.
  3. Make sure you're not using any apps that can delete emails. If a program that uses the POP3 protocol is installed on your phone, specify in its settings that you want to save email copies on the server when downloading emails.

I'm not receiving notifications from a social network or online forum

Attention. If you created a Yandex account after registering on a social media site or a forum, you won't receive a confirmation email. You will need to request the email from the website again.

If you you're not receiving a confirmation email after registering on a social media site or a forum, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you entered the correct email address.
  2. Make sure that your message filters don't contain a filter that deletes these types of emails. (You can disable or delete such a rule only in the Yandex.Mail web interface.)
  3. Make sure that the social network or forum email address is not blacklisted (You can remove a website address from the blacklist only in the Yandex.Mail web interface.)

If you are sure that the mailbox settings and the email address are correct, try requesting the confirmation email from the website again. If the message does not arrive within a few hours, please contact site administration.

How do I create custom folders?

You can create your own custom folders in the Yandex.Mail web interface (see the Folders section).

The app has errors

Errors may occur due to accumulated user data. To fix this, clear the user data by following these steps:

  1. Open your smartphone settings.
  2. Choose Applications → Yandex.Mail.
  3. Tap Clear data.
Attention. Settings and accounts will be removed from the app, but all your emails will remain on Yandex servers.

To continue working with emails in the app, open the app and log in.
