Yandex.Maps are supported on platforms iOS 9 and above and Android 4 and above.
The app isn't supported on the following platforms: Symbian, Java, Windows Mobile, Windows CE, bada. We can't guarantee that Yandex.Maps will be stable on them.
If you installed the app on your device running on iOS 6 or earlier, you can re-load an older version of the app on this device.
To find out your operating system version, go to your device's Settings and chooseGeneral → About this device.

Yandex.Navigator is meant for use while driving. The app lets you set driving routes and view trip statistics and parking information.
Yandex.Maps lets you create routes (for driving, on foot or via public transport) as well as provide detailed information about businesses.
A more detailed description of the app can be found in the app store for your device.
You can install and use both apps and then choose the one that better meets your needs.
Yandex.Maps supports Russian, English, Ukrainian, and Turkish.
The app will launch in English if your phone is set to a language not included in this list.
Tap the Search button .
A search bar with a list of place categories is displayed on the screen. Tap one of the categories (ATMs, gas stations, and so on) to find such places located nearby.

To view detailed information about a place, tap on it in the search results list. For more details, see the Place card section.
You can use automatic search suggestions to enter your request faster.
Suggestions include a list of places that match the request you entered. These places are sorted by the distance from the current center of the map.
To share a link to a place, tap the Share button ( or ). This button is located on the place card or at the top of the map.

Aе the moment, the route setting option isn't available everywhere. If you can't set your route, let us know.
Offline maps are city maps saved in your phone's memory. With offline maps, the app works faster and you consume less traffic.

If your city's map isn't in the download list, send us a message and we will let you know when it becomes available.
Road events are points on the map (set by the users) that represent accidents, road works, speed cameras, road closings, bridges that are up, and so on.
In addition, there is a special kind of road event — “ conversations”. These are points on the map where you can start a discussion on any permissible topic (for the list of topics that aren't permitted, read the answer to Why was I blocked from conversations?

Messages about road events are displayed for about 20 minutes. Every time we receive a confirmation of the event from other users we prolong the display time.
If you have information about a road event at a particular location (for example, if you spot a surveillance camera), let us know by writing to the Yandex.Maps support service.
Yes. The moderation rules are as follows:
“Accidents, Cameras, Road works, and Other” events should only contain information about the road event itself.
“Conversations” is only intended as a platform to discuss topics related to the current road situation.
A message of either type is removed if it:
Violates the country's laws.
Contains obscene or vulgar language.
This includes obscenities where part of the letters are replaced by stars or other symbols, yet the intended meaning is read and understood by native speakers.
Incites hatred or attempts to humiliate a person or group based on their sex, race, nationality, language, country of origin, religious beliefs, or membership in a particular social group.
Is an incomprehensible combination words or letters.
Contains a phone number or other contact information.
Contains political slogans or calls to action.
Reports a bombing or other extreme situation that we cannot verify and that may frighten other users.
If a user's messages have inappropriate content, the user may be banned in the app (see Why was I blocked from conversations?).
A user can be blocked if they send messages with non-permissible content (see Are road events and conversations moderated?).
If you are blocked for the first time, the block lasts for 24 hours.
After the second time, the block isn't removed.

Information about your location and speed is sent to Yandex servers when you use the app. This data helps to analyze road congestion.
Yandex.Traffic displays data provided by Yandex.Maps and Yandex.Navigator. See the Traffic section for information on how data is displayed.
The more frequently data is received, the more up-to-date the information on the map is. The traffic display changes in accordance with whatever new data becomes available (if there are no updates after a given time has passed, then traffic will stop displaying).
If you failed to send a push-notification to your phone or tablet, check the following settings on your mobile device:
Network access is enabled. Turn on Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Notifications are allowed. Enable this permission.
That Yandex.Maps is able to receive notifications. Enable this permission.
The location of these settings depends on the brand of your device. More information:
Perhaps you didn't turn on geolocation on your device. To turn it on:
- Android 4.3 and earlier: in the Using GPS. menu, turn on
- Android 4.4: in the Using all sources or Using GPS. menu, turn on
- iOS: in the Location services and Allow location access (for the app). If these options are already enabled, make sure nothing is blocking the GPS signal (for example, the roof of your car). menu, turn on
It's possible that the Yandex.Maps app can't access your location.

Yandex.Maps in a browser
There is a Yandex.Maps app for using Yandex.Maps on mobile devices.
If you don't have the Yandex.Maps app, you can open maps on your mobile device in the browser.
To do so, enter yandex.com/maps in the address bar.
Using the map via browser, you can:
To plan a route:
Tap Route on the map.
You will see the question “Where from?” Move the map so that the icon points at the starting point of your journey and tap Plot route.
Tap Add waypoint.
You will see the question “Where to?” Move the map so that the icon points to your destination.
Tap Plot route.
You can also set the route to a place found on the map:
Find a place on the map.
Tap Plot route in the object card for this place.
The indicated place will be set as the end point of the route.
You will see the question “Where from?”Move the map so that the icon points at the starting point of your journey and tap Plot route.

Go to Settings → Routes → Saved routes.
Choose a route from the list (information about routes is saved automatically).
