Yandex.Maps is supported on iOS platforms 8 and above and Android 4.0 and above.
The app is not supported on the following platforms: Symbian, Java, Windows Mobile, Windows CE, bada. We can not guarantee that Yandex.Maps will function stably on them.
If you installed the app on your device running on iOS 6 or lower, you can re-load an older version of the app on that device.
To find out your operating system version, go to your device's Settings, and select General → About this device.
Your operating system version is listed under Version.
Tap Menu .
Go to Settings → About.
The Android version can be downloaded from the Yandex.Store.
If you experience problems downloading the app from Google Play, please contact Google support.
Yandex.Navigator is meant for use while driving. The app lets you set driving routes and view trip statistics and parking information.
Yandex.Maps lets you build public transport routes (not by private car) and walking routes. It also provides detailed information about organizations.
A more detailed description of the app can be found in the app store for your device.
You can install and use both apps and then choose the one that better meets your needs.
Yandex.Maps supports Russian, English, Ukrainian, and Turkish.
The app will launch in English if your phone is set to a language not included in this list.
Tap Search .
A search bar with a list of place categories will appear on the screen. Tap one of the categories (ATMs, gas stations, etc.) to find such places located nearby.

To view detailed information about a place, tap on it in the search results list. For more information, see the Place card.
You can use automatic search suggestions to enter your request faster.
The suggestions include a list of places with names similar to the request you entered. These places are listed by order of distance from the center of the map currently being displayed.
To Share a link to a place, tap Share (or). This button is located on the place card or towards the upper edge of the map.

At the moment, the route setting option is not available everywhere. If you can't set your route, let us know.
Offline maps are city maps that are saved in your phone's memory. With offline maps, the app works faster and you consume less data.
Saved maps can only be used as images; you can't search for places or set routes on them.

If your city's map is not included in the list of those that can be downloaded, send us a message and we will let you know when it becomes available.
Road events are points on the map (set by users) that represent accidents, road work, speed cameras, road closings, bridges that are up, etc.
Additionally, there is a another type of "road event" called “conversations”. These are points where you can start a discussion on any permissible topic (read the answer to Why was I blocked from "conversations"? for a list of topics that aren't permitted).

Messages about road events will display for about 20 minutes. Every confirmation of that event that we receive from other users will prolong that time.
If you have information about a road event at a particular location (for example, if you spot a surveillance camera), let us know by writing to Yandex.Maps support.
Yes. The moderation rules are as follows:
“Accidents, Cameras, Road work, and Other” events should only contain information about the road event itself.
“Conversations” is only intended as a platform to discuss topics connected to the current road situation.
A message of either type will be flagged under the following circumstances:
It violates that country's laws.
Contains obscene or vulgar language.
This includes obscenities where part of the letters are replaced by stars or other symbols, yet the intended meaning is read and understood by native speakers.
It incites hatred or attempts to humiliate a person or group based on their sex, race, nationality, language, country of origin, religious beliefs, or membership in a particular social group.
It contains ads.
It contains incomprehensible groups of words or letters.
It contains a phone number or other contact information.
It contains political slogans or appeals to action.
It reports a bombing or other extreme situation that we can not verify and that may frighten other users.
If a user's messages contain inappropriate content, they may be blocked from the app (see Why was I blocked from "conversations"?).
A user can be blocked if they send messages with non-permissible content (see Are road events and conversations moderated?).
If this is the first time you were blocked, the block will be lifted in 24 hours.
The block will not be lifted after your second offense.

Information about your location and speed is sent to Yandex's servers when you use the app. This data helps to analyze road congestion.
Yandex.Traffic displays data provided by Yandex Maps and Yandex.Navigator. See Traffic for information on how data is displayed.
The more frequently data is received, the more up-to-date the information on the map is. The traffic jam display changes in accordance with whatever new data becomes available (if there are no updates after a given time has passed, then traffic will stop displaying).
You might not have enabled geolocation on your device. To turn it on:
- Android 4.3 and earlier: in the menu Using GPS. turn on
- Android 4.4: in the menu Using all sources or Using GPS. turn on
- iOS: in the menu Geolocation service and Share geolocation (with the app). If these options are already enabled, then make sure nothing is blocking the GPS signal (like the roof of your car). turn on
It's possible that the Yandex.Maps app can't access your location.
Go to— and allow the Yandex.Maps app to access your location.
