Find my location
When you launch Yandex Maps for the first time, the app requests permission to access your location. It's required to display accurate recommendations, routes, and information about nearby places.
Current location
Your location is determined automatically if location detection is enabled in your device settings. You can use the map to:
- See where you are
Your location on the map is marked with
. Tap on the placemark to see your exact address and coordinates.- Determine your location
To determine your location, tap the
button so that it changes to 
. When you do this, the map centers on your location placemark.- Rotate the map to match your direction
For easier navigation, you can rotate the map to match your direction. To do this, tap the
button so that it changes to 
. The button only appears on the home screen, during route selection, while following a walking route, and in Transport mode.- Navigate using the compass
The
button is displayed when you rotate the screen or follow a route. The red arrow on the compass points to the north. To keep north always up, tap the button.
If your location can't be determined, the 
button is shown instead.
Share your coordinates
You can share your location or the coordinates of a point on the map.
- Tap to see your exact address and coordinates of the placemark.
Share the coordinates using one of the following methods:
- Tap
and select the service or messenger where you want to share a link to your coordinates. - Tap the value in the Coordinates field and send the copied coordinates using your preferred service or messenger.
- Tap and hold the point you need.
- Select See what's here.

My location can't be determined
If your location can't be determined or is determined inaccurately, do the following:
- In the device settings, go to Location.
- Enable Location access.
- Tap .
- Enable Location services.
- Update to the latest version of Yandex Maps.
- Enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your device.
- In the device settings, go to About phone.
- Tap on MIUI version seven times.
- Go back to settings and open System.
- Select Developer options and disable Wi-Fi scan throttling.
- In the device settings, go to About phone.
- Open Software information and tap on Build number seven times.
- Go back to settings and open System.
- Select Developer options and disable Wi-Fi scan throttling.
- In the device settings, go to About phone.
- Tap on Build number seven times.
- Go back to settings and open System.
- Select Developer options and disable Wi-Fi scan throttling.
- In the device settings, go to About phone.
- Tap on Build number seven times.
- Go back to settings and open System.
- Select Developer options and disable Wi-Fi scan throttling.
- In the device settings, go to About phone.
- Open Baseband & Kernel and tap Build number seven times.
- Go back to settings and open System.
- Select Developer options and disable Wi-Fi scan throttling.
- Close Yandex Maps. Hiding the app with the Back or Home buttons won't help. You need to open the list of all running apps and swipe the Yandex Maps app right or left.
- Turn off Wi-Fi and turn it on again.
- Turn on Airplane Mode for 15–20 seconds, then turn it off.
- Restart your smartphone or tablet.
To disable Wi-Fi scan throttling, activate Developer mode:
