The app won't open or keeps crashing when I'm trying to use it

  1. Update to the latest version of the app.
  2. If you're using an Android device, make sure it has enough RAM. If it's running low on RAM, close other apps.

If the suggested steps didn't help, contact support.

I can't install or update the app

Check that your device meets hardware requirements for the app to run.

Check your Wi-Fi or mobile data connection
  • Make sure you have a strong, stable network connection.
  • Switch to Wi-Fi if possible.
Check how much storage space you have available

Apps may fail to download or install when your device has less than 1 GB of free storage.

To check your available storage, navigate to Настройки → Storage.

If your storage is nearly full, free up space by deleting files you no longer need.

Check for Android updates

To check for updates, navigate to Настройки → System → Software update → System update. Download and install any available updates.

Check your date and time settings

Confirm that your device shows the correct date and time. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Select Настройки → System → Date & time.
  2. Make sure automatic time and time zone detection are both turned on. If either setting is disabled, turn it on.
  3. Wait a few minutes, then try installing the app again.

Once you've addressed these potential issues, restart your device and attempt the installation again.

Check your storage status by tapping Settings → Основные → iPhone Storage.

If your storage is nearly full, free up space by deleting files you no longer need.

If you've tried all these steps but still can't install or update the app, reach out to support for help.

The app is pre-installed on my device, and I can't delete it

Some manufacturers ship their devices with Yandex Maps already pre-installed on them. While pre-installed apps can't be deleted completely, you can disable them. Once disabled, these apps won't run, update, or access your data.

The app has problems rebuilding routes, and the arrow keeps moving back and forth

The app may freeze if it can't detect your location or if it's detected incorrectly. Follow the suggested steps from the Location can't be determined or is determined inaccurately section.

The app freezes and runs slowly

Your device may be outdated or out of memory.

To improve the app's performance, try the following:

  1. In Yandex Maps, disable layers: tap and turn off Traffic, Parking.
  2. Close other running applications.

Alternatively, you can use the mobile browser version of Yandex Maps.

By default, all links open in the Yandex Maps app. On Android devices, you can open links from the app in your browser. To do this:

  1. Open your device settings.
  2. Go to Apps → Manage apps.
  3. In the upper-right corner, tap image/svg+xml dots dots Created with Sketch. and select Default apps.
  4. Tap Opening links.
  5. Scroll to Yandex Maps and select Ask every time under Open supported links.
I have a Samsung device
  1. Open your device settings.
  2. Go to Apps.
  3. Find and select Yandex Maps.
  4. Select Set as default.
  5. Enable Open supported links.
  6. Select Ask every time or In other app.

Maps, traffic, or routes won't load

The app is experiencing problems connecting to the internet. Try the following steps:

  • Ensure your device isn't in power saving mode.
  • Check your internet connection.
  • Confirm the app has internet access.
  • Check the location detection settings.
  • Disable your VPN.
  • Check that antivirus software or ad blockers aren't blocking the connection.
