Configure permissions and notifications
Some permissions required for the Yandex Maps app to work properly are requested when you first launch the app, but you can also grant them at a later time.
Additionally, you can select which events you want to get notified of.
Permissions
The app requires the following permissions to work properly on your device:
- Location: To automatically determine your location, based on which search suggestions are generated.
- Notifications: To receive push notifications (pop-up messages) from Yandex Maps. For example, a notification may suggest that you leave a review about a place you recently visited.
- IDFA (iOS device ID): Get higher-accuracy recommendations in Yandex Maps.
After installing the app, grant the required permissions in the device settings. The path and menu element names may vary depending on your device.
