Augmented reality

Augmented reality is created by adding virtual signposts and directions to the real world.

With the augmented reality feature, you can:
  • Plot a walking route in live view with virtual signs to guide your way.
  • Navigate the area.
  • Observe a route in live view rather than on the map.
There are two ways to switch to augmented reality mode:
From a place card
Select a place to open its place card and tap Augmented reality. This opens a route to the place with virtual signs on your way. The distance to the place is shown as well. You will also see a thumbnail of the regular map:

Tap the map thumbnail to enlarge its view. To exit augmented reality mode, tap .
When plotting a route
Plot a route, select a walking route, and tap Start. Then tap Augmented reality:
