Yandex ID lets you link one phone number to your account that can be used as a secure number for receiving security notifications and recovering access to your account if your credentials are lost or stolen. You can also use your secure number for [login verification](https://yandex.com/support/id/en/security/login-challenge.md#phone-confirm) on Yandex. The [Phone numbers](https://id.yandex.com/profile/phones) page may display multiple numbers if you entered a different phone number in another Yandex service. For example, the phone number you use to receive discount offers from Yandex Market may be displayed as an additional phone number. ## Link your phone number {#confirm} Only one secure number can be linked to an account. You can change it later if necessary. To add a phone number: 1. Go to the [Phone numbers](https://id.yandex.com/profile/phones) page. 1. Enter the phone number in international format and click **Next**. Yandex will send you an SMS with the confirmation code. {% note info %} If the number you enter is already linked to 10 accounts, Yandex ID will automatically unlink it from the first account that you registered. A notification message will be sent to the mailbox of this account. {% endnote %} Recommended phone number format: ![](../_assets/passport-phone-detail.png) 1. In the window that opens, enter the confirmation code you receive to confirm that this phone number belongs to you. 1. Click **Next**. If you enter the correct code, your phone number will be immediately linked to your Yandex ID. ## Change your phone number {#change} {% note info %} If you lose your SIM card or it stops working, you can restore your number at one of your mobile operator's offices. {% endnote %} To change your secure phone number: 1. Go to the [Phone numbers](https://id.yandex.com/profile/phones) page. 1. Click on the field with the secure phone number and select **Update**. 1. If you don't have access to the old number, select the **I can't get an SMS** checkbox. In this case, the number will be changed in 14 days. 1. Enter your new phone number in the field and click **Next**. Yandex will send a confirmation code to the new phone number. A message with the code will also be sent to your old phone number (if you indicated that you have access to it). Notifications will also be sent to all [email addresses](https://id.yandex.com/profile/emails) that are linked to your Yandex ID. {% note info %} If the number you enter is already linked to 10 accounts, Yandex ID will automatically unlink it from the first account that you registered. If you can still access your old phone number, then start by entering the confirmation code you receive at that number. If you can't access your old phone number, enter the code sent to your new number. - If you entered both codes correctly, your phone number will be changed when you click the button. - If you do not have access to the old number, then your secure number will be changed in 14 days. You can cancel the pending phone number change at any moment by clicking **Cancel** on the [Phone numbers](https://id.yandex.com/profile/phones) page. ## Delete your phone number {#delete} For security reasons, you can't delete your main phone number from Yandex ID. If the number no longer belongs to you, [change it to your new one](https://yandex.com/support/id/en/authorization/phone.md#change). This phone number is used for sending you [security notifications](https://yandex.com/support/id/en/messages.md#suspicious-login-attempt) and for [restoring access](https://yandex.com/support/id/en/support-restore.md) in a situation where you forgot your password or your account was hacked.
