# Alternate email addresses

All your added addresses and aliases can be found on the [Email addresses](https://id.yandex.com/profile/emails) page. Addresses on all Yandex domains with your username are bound to your account on registration. You can't delete email aliases. For more information about email aliases, see [Yandex Mail Help](https://yandex.com/support/mail/web/preferences/about-sender/additional-addresses.html#alias).

Alternate email addresses help you restore access to your account. If you forget your password, enter a confirmed email, and we'll send you instructions. Yandex also uses alternate addresses to send [notifications](https://yandex.com/support/id/en/messages.md) about suspicious activity on your account, phone number changes, and other important events.

## How to add an email address {#howtoadd}

1. Go to the [Security](https://id.yandex.com/security) tab.
    
1. In the **Recovery methods** section, click **Add a recovery email**.
    
1. Enter the email address and click **Done**.
    
    Yandex will send a confirmation code via email to this address.
    
    If you have [logging in with a one-time password](https://yandex.com/support/id/en/authorization/twofa.md) enabled for your account, Yandex will also ask you to enter a one-time password from the Yandex ID (Key) app.
    
1. Open the email and click the link or copy the code and paste it into the **Enter the code from the message** field.
    
    The code is valid for three hours. If you close the page where you were supposed to enter the confirmation code, go back to the [Security](https://id.yandex.com/security) tab, click on the unconfirmed address and then **Confirm**.
    


## How to delete an email address {#howtodel}

In the **Recovery methods** section on the [Security](https://id.yandex.com/security) tab, choose the email address you want to delete and click ![](../_assets/trash.png).
