The CNAME record allows you to assign an alias for the host. This alias usually associates a certain feature with the host, or just shortens the name.
You can set up access to the mailbox login page for the address “mail.yourdomain.tld”, where “yourdomain.tld” is the name of the domain where mailboxes were created. To do this, create a CNAME record following the instructions below. You should create the record on the servers that your domain is delegated to.
If you delegated your domain to Yandex servers, the CNAME record will be set up automatically. You can view it or edit its parameters in the DNS editor in Yandex.Mail for Domain.
Open the DNS management page on your DNS hosting company's website.
Create a CNAME record with the following field values (the fields may be named differently in different control panels):
Name — “mail”.
In some control panels, the record name must specify the full name of the subdomain, such as "mail.yourdomain.tld".
Value — “domain.mail.yandex.net.”. Note that you don't need to change the server name (don't replace "domain" with the name of your domain).
Wait while the changes take effect in DNS. This process may take up to 72 hours.
