# Setting up on Zyxel routers

Yandex DNS is built into Zyxel routers. It can be configured for individual devices or for all devices at once.

Update the router firmware before setting up Yandex DNS:

1. Open the router settings page. For this, in the browser's address bar, enter `192.168.1.1`
1. Enter your username and password.

    Default username and password: `admin`/`1234`

1. If you see **Upgrade available**, then at the bottom of the list, click **Upgrade**.

    Do not turn off the router during the upgrade.

## Set up in the interface {#settings-router}

If you couldn't find the section for enabling Yandex DNS in the router settings, specify the DNS addresses [manually](#settings-manually).

1. Click ![](_images/zyxel-tools-button.png) **System** → **Components**.
1. Enable the option **Yandex.DNS Internet filter**.

1. At the bottom-left corner under the list of components, click **Upgrade**.
1. Click ![](_images/zyxel-security-button.png) **Security** → **Yandex.DNS**.
1. Click **Enable**.

1. Select the [filtering profile](https://yandex.com/support/dns/en/ya-dns-modes.md#ya-dns-mode) in the list of devices:
    - The profile in the line **Other home and guest network devices** applies to all network devices, including unregistered ones.
    - You can assign a separate profile to individual devices, such as your child's desktop. To do this, select it from the list to the right of the name.

1. Click **Apply**.


## Configure manually {#settings-manually}

1. Select ![](_images/zyxel-broadband-button.png) **Internet** → **Other**.
1. Click **Add server**.

1. Enter the address of your [primary](https://yandex.com/support/dns/en/ya-dns-modes.md#ya-dns-ip) DNS server, then click **Save**.

1. Add the address of your [alternate](https://yandex.com/support/dns/en/ya-dns-modes.md#ya-dns-ip) DNS server. To do this, repeat the steps 2–3.
