# Setup on Android devices

1. Open **Settings**.
1. Select **Connections** or **Connection & sharing**.

1. Tap **More connection settings** or **Advanced** to open the additional options.

   On some models of phones and tablets, you can find **Private DNS** using the search bar in the **Settings** section.

1. Select **Private DNS**.

1. Select **Private DNS provider hostname**.
1. Specify the address of the Yandex DNS server corresponding to your desired filtering type:

   - Basic: `common.dot.dns.yandex.net`
   - Safe: `safe.dot.dns.yandex.net`
   - Family: `family.dot.dns.yandex.net`

1. Tap **Save**. The address will appear in your settings.

1. Open the device settings.

1. Tap **Connections** → **Wi-Fi**, then connect to your network.

1. To the right of the network name, tap ![](_images/parameters.png).

1. Tap **View more** and scroll down.

1. Tap **IP Settings**, then select **Static**.

1. In the **DNS 1** and **DNS 2** fields, enter the IP addresses of the DNS servers that you [selected](https://yandex.com/support/dns/en/ya-dns-modes.md#ya-dns-ip).

1. Tap **Save**.

1. Open the device settings.

1. Tap **Network & Internet** → **Wi-Fi** and connect to your network.

1. Tap and hold the network name. In the menu that appears, select **Manage network settings**.

1. Tap **Show advanced options** and scroll down the list.

1. Under **IP settings**, select **Static**.

1. In the **DNS 1** and **DNS 2** fields, enter the IP addresses of the DNS servers that you [selected](https://yandex.com/support/dns/en/ya-dns-modes.md#ya-dns-ip).

1. Tap **Save**.
