What advantage does the advertiser gain from participating in the auction?

Unlike fixed-price lines, auctions allow advertisers to use an automatic auction strategy for their display ads that matches their goals more closely and uses their resources more effectively.

Specifically, the advertiser can manage their main line parameters:
  • Number of impressions
  • Budget
  • Impression time

With an auction line, the advertiser can fix any two parameters and the Yandex display-advertising system will run the auction (i.e. select sites and set bids) on behalf of the advertiser in such a way as to optimize the third parameter. The advertiser can alternately fix all three parameters and manage their current values.
