Changelog

Yandex.Disk has been keeping a history of file changes since May 1, 2018. For example, if you accidentally delete important information from a file, you can go back to a previous version and restore it.

Previous versions of a file don't take up space on your Yandex.Disk.

If you have a Yandex 360 subscription, you can access the changelog for the last 90 days. Without a subscription, you can only view the changelog for the last 14 days.

  1. Viewing the history of file changes
  2. Versions of other people's public files
  3. Versions of files in shared folders

Viewing the history of file changes

To open the history of file changes:

  1. Select a file.
  2. Click  → Changelog in the upper panel or in the context menu.

The line of each version shows the date and time when the file was modified. If you change the file multiple times, these consequent file versions will be grouped together.

To see what changes were made in one of the older versions of a file, open it. If after that you want to replace the current version with the older one, click Restore and select Replace current one. If you need both the old and current versions, click Restore and select Save as copy.

Note. To learn more about the files you can open in Yandex.Disk, go to View files and folders.

Versions of other people's public files

You can't view the changelog for other people's public files. If you save someone else's public file on your Yandex.Disk, the changelog starts from that moment.

Versions of files in shared folders

The shared folder history shows changes made by all folder members. Whether the change history is available for 14 days or 90 days depends on whether the owner of the shared folder has a subscription to Yandex 360.
