How to launch
- Step 1. Go to the campaign creation page and set parameters
In the Create campaign drop-down menu, select Display campaigns.
Enter a campaign name and select your display regions.
Enter start and end dates for your campaign and a display strategy. We recommend automatic strategies:
- Decrease price for repeat impressions to launch new products and services on the market.
- Maximize impressions for lowest price to promote products and services with a target audience.
You can also cap impression frequency to limit how many times your campaign ads can be served to the same user.
- Step 2. Select ad type
Select ad type: video.
An ad group can only contain ads of a single type. Once you save an ad group, it is not possible to change the ad type. You can mix all types of ads in a single campaign. If you have configured frequency capping, it applies to banner and video groups, but it is ignored for outdoor advertising.
- Step 3. Add creative
Use your own video clip to create a creative. You don't need to hire professionals or rent a studio to do this. You can film a clip on your smartphone, if it has a good camera, or buy a video from a stock database.

To pass moderation, the video clip must meet the requirements for the content.
- How to create a video creative in Ad Builder:
To open the Ad Builder window, click. You can download a video from your computer or via a link. The audio will be added automatically from the video you upload.
It will take a few minutes to process your video clip. If any errors occur while loading it, you will see an error message. More details about potential errors.
Add a packshot: a clickable image to show for several seconds after your video. The packshot helps to imprint the image of an advertised object in the viewer's mind. For example, you can use a product photo or a company logo as a packshot.

Customize the redirect button: set its format and position, text, and color scheme.
If necessary, set an age label. In the Legal information section, provide the information required by law and Yandex Ad Serving Rules.
When you have finished working on your ad creative, click Create. Your creative will be added to your ad.
- Step 4. Configure audience accumulation for retargeting
You can accumulate an audience of users who have viewed a video from your display campaign and then use it to configure retargeting.
Choose the events that interest you:
- video impression
- completed 25%, 50%, or 75% of video
- completed entire video
A separate segment is created automatically for each event in Yandex.Audience, under the account hosting the Yandex.Direct campaign. The segment will accumulate users for whom the event has occurred on at least one video from the ad group.

- Step 5. Set impression criteria
Video ads from display campaigns are only served in the Yandex Advertising Network based on user profile.
A user profile consists of the cumulative characteristics of the users that you want to serve your ads to. These include gender, age, and user interests online. Determine what your particular audience looks like and create a profile based on that data.
Ad moderation and launching a campaign
After you create your ads, a moderator will review them to make sure they comply with our requirements. Click Send to moderation and confirm that you accept the Yandex terms for publishing your ad. It usually takes the moderators a few hours to review ads. Moderators do not work at night. On weekends and holidays, it might take longer than on business days.
Your moderation results will be emailed to the address you provided when you created the ad campaign.
Your ads will begin displaying as soon as Yandex receives your payment.
