How OTS and complete reach are calculated
Each advertising surface has a unique visible area. It is calculated from:
- The size of the advertising surface and its orientation.
- The angle of rotation relative to the road and intersections.
- Interference preventing complete perception of the message.
Audience size is determined using data from Yandex apps that drivers and passengers are running, like Yandex.Maps and Yandex.Navigator. We measure the direction and speed of movement of all users of Yandex apps who are within the visible area of your advertising surfaces. The traffic speed is calculated based on GPS data.
The system processes the data and gets the following types of events: “A car drove through the billboard's visibility area at a certain speed in a certain direction for a certain period of time”. Mathematical models are used to calculate the traffic density and factor in vehicles where Yandex apps were inactive during the contact with the billboard, and the complete reach is calculated.
