How OTS is calculated
Each advertising surface has a unique visible area. It is calculated from:
- The size of the advertising surface and its orientation.
- The angle of rotation relative to the road or intersections.
- Interference preventing complete perception of the message.
Audience size is determined using data from Yandex apps like Yandex.Maps and Yandex.Navigator that drivers and passengers are running. We measure the direction and speed of movement of all users of Yandex apps who are within the visible area of your advertising surfaces. The traffic speed is calculated based on GPS data.
The system processes the data and gets the following types of events: “A car drove through the visible area of the billboard at a certain speed in a certain direction for a certain period of time”. Mathematical models are used to calculate actual traffic density using vehicles where Yandex apps were inactive during the contact with the billboard.
