Filters for smart banners

Smart banners are currently in beta testing. Only agencies can create smart banner campaigns at this time. Contact your Yandex manager or ad agency for help.

To generate smart banners, you can use either the whole feed or individual products that you filtered for. On the ad group editing page, click +New filter and add up to 50 filters connected by the conjunction “OR”.

To configure the filter: select your target audience, set the product selection rules, and specify the CPC (for the “Optimize the number of clicks” or “Optimize the number of conversions” strategies).

Select one of these options in the drop-down list:

  • Showed interest in similar products on the internet — for users who searched for similar products on the internet, but did not visit your site.

  • Viewed products on my site — for users who visited your site and viewed specific products. Ecommerce must be configured in Yandex.Metrica for this option.

  • Both groups — for users who visited your site and searched for similar products on the internet. Ecommerce must be configured in Yandex.Metrica for this to function correctly. If ecommerce is not configured, smart banners will be shown only to users who search for similar products on the internet.

You can use bid adjustments to raise or lower the CPC when you serve ads to particular users.

Set the product selection rules

The selection rules will determine which products will be used and which ones will be excluded when generating smart banners. All products are grouped by some attributes (category, price, etc.). These attributes depend on the business feed type.

Retail sales, other business: Yandex.Market feed
For this type, attributes are displayed in a tree view or condition list:

You can use the feed tree to conveniently select products within the same category. Select a category or sub-category of products in the tree.

In addition, you can specify a range of product prices and vendors, and select only products that are in stock.

The category tree is updated once per day during the repeat automatic validation of the feed.

Hotels: AdWords “Hotels and rentals” feed

It is convenient to select hotels in the feed with the same parameters by using criteria. This may be, for example, hotels with a certain number of stars, or hotels in the same price range. The following feed parameters can be specified in criteria:

Automobiles: Auto.ru feed

It is convenient to select automobiles in the feed with the same parameters by using criteria. They may be, for example, automobiles of a certain make or year of release. The following feed parameters can be specified in criteria:
