Not taking links to redirects into consideration during ad impressions

Starting today in Direct, links to redirects are not taken into consideration during ad impressions. This means that only the domain of the page whose address you specified in the “link to website” field will be shown when creating or editing ad materials.

For example:

The page address, which redirects to was specified for an ad. Previously, the system took this into consideration and chose the domain for impression. Now, will be displayed in the ad.

There is an exception to the new rules for taking links to redirects into consideration: if the address you specified leads to counters, the ad will display the domain of the first redirect, just as it did before.

You can find out more about how links in ads are checked in help.
