# Log in to Direct Commander

If an error occurs while logging in to Direct Commander, follow these recommendations.

{% cut "You are using an outdated version of the program" %}

Older versions of Direct Commander are incompatible with the newer features and functions of the program, which is why they are no longer supported. You can't log in using the older versions.

Install the [latest version of Direct Commander](https://yandex.com/promo/commander/new) for Windows or macOS and log in using your regular account.

Your data will not be lost: all your campaign settings are saved.

{% endcut %}

{% cut "Your username is not enabled in Yandex Direct" %}

You are not a Yandex Direct user. [Create an account](https://direct.yandex.com/registered/main.pl?cmd=advertize) in Yandex Direct:

1. Enter an email address you currently use.

2. Select your country and currency.

3. Click **Start using the service**.

4. Open the Yandex Direct Pro interface.

5. Log in to Direct Commander.

{% endcut %}

{% cut "Access restricted" %}

You may have set up restrictions regarding which IP address you can access Direct Commander from. To change the settings, go to the [API settings](https://direct.yandex.com/registered/main.pl?cmd=apiSettings) page, open the **Parameters** tab, and edit the **Permitted IP addresses** field.

If the error persists, please [contact Support](https://yandex.com/support/direct-commander-new/en/troubleshooting/report-problem.md#form-feedback).

{% cut "Authorization server is not accessible" %}

- Check that your internet connection is stable. You can go to [https://yandex.ru/internet](https://yandex.com/internet) and check the connection speed (we recommend doing this multiple times).

- If you're using a Windows OS, check whether secure connections are enabled:

    {% cut "Windows 10" %}

    1. Click **Start**![](../_assets/win10.png) and select **Settings** from the menu.

    1. In the settings window, start typing _internet options_ in the search box. In the list that appears, click the **Internet Options** link.

    1. In the Internet Options window, click upon the **Advanced** tab.

    1. Make sure that the **Use TLS 1.0** option is enabled in the **Settings** **Security** section.

    {% endcut %}

    {% cut "Windows 7" %}

    1. In Internet Explorer, click ![](../_assets/ie-icon.png)**(Service)** → **Internet Options** in the upper-right corner of the window.

    1. In the Internet Options window, click upon the **Advanced** tab.

    1. Make sure that the **Use TLS 1.0** option is enabled in the **Security** section.

    {% endcut %}

- Check access to the Yandex Direct API: open the address [https://api.direct.yandex.ru](https://api.direct.yandex.ru) in the Edge browser (for Windows 10 users), Internet Explorer (for Windows 7 users), or Safari (for macOS users). The page should display the word "hello".

    If the page fails to open, check your antivirus and firewall settings, since these programs can block the connection to the server.

    Also check the security certificates installed on your computer:

    {% cut "Windows 10" %}

    1. Click **Start**![](../_assets/win10.png) and select **Settings** from the menu.

    1. In the settings window, start typing _internet options_ in the search box. In the list that appears, click the **Internet Options** link.

    1. In the Internet Properties window, go to the **Content** tab and click **Certificates**.

    1. In the **Certificates** window, in the **Intended purpose** list, select All. View the lists of certificates on all tabs. Pay particular attention to the **Untrusted publishers** tab.

    {% endcut %}

    {% cut "Windows 7" %}

    1. In Internet Explorer, click ![](../_assets/ie-icon.png)**(Service)** → **Internet Options** in the upper-right corner of the window.

    1. In the Internet Properties window, go to the **Content** tab and click **Certificates**.

    1. In the **Certificates** window, in the **Intended purpose** list, select All. View the lists of certificates on all tabs. Pay particular attention to the **Untrusted publishers** tab.

    {% endcut %}

    {% cut "macOS" %}

    Open the **Keychain Access** app and go to the **Certificates** category. View the list of certificates. Pay particular attention to certificates marked with "This certificate was signed by an untrusted issuer".

    {% endcut %}
