# How to configure the Direct Commander window

#### **Position and size of panels**
 
To manage panels, use the **View** menu or [keyboard shortcuts](https://yandex.com/support/direct-commander-new/en/advanced/hotkeys.md). For example, you can tile the panels horizontally.

To resize the panels or the Inspector, drag the border between them. To restore the original size, click ![](../_assets/equalize-panels-button.png =24x).

#### **Zooming the interface**
 
To zoom in or out on the elements in the window, use the keys **Ctrl** + **+**/**-** (**Cmd ⌘** + **+**/**-** on MacOS ). Zoom settings are not saved when you restart Direct Commander.

#### **Collapse panels**
 
To collapse any of the panels or the Inspector, click the ![](../_assets/close-button.png) icon in the upper-right corner (the icon appears on hover).

When you collapse one of the panels, the other panel becomes the main panel, with a full set of tabs available in it.

To expand a collapsed panel or the Inspector, just click on them.

#### **Set of columns on a tab**
 
To hide, show, or reorder columns in the tab, right-click and select **Setting columns** from the menu. In the window that opens, select the columns that you want to show or drag-and-drop them to reorder.
