How to set up short-term interests by user profile

By targeting your audience based on short-term interests, you can make relevant offers to people who have been looking for your products or services right now or in the last few days. For example, you can selectively offer sales of airline tickets or summer clothing to people going on vacation. Short-term interest ads are only served in ad networks.

Tip

Before making any changes, download up-to-date campaign data from the server.

You can only set up impressions for short-term interests for text and image ads. To add a set of interests:

  1. On the Ad groups tab, select one or multiple ad groups.

  2. On the Retargeting and interests tab, click Add and select User profile from the menu.

  3. Enter the audience name in the User profile window. You can link only one profile to an ad group.

  4. Select the interests of users you want to serve your ads to. You can combine up to three sets of interests using the AND operator. You can't connect more than 10 interests using the "OR" operator in the same set.

    Tip

    To quickly select or clear an option, press the Space bar.

    Click Apply. The interests will be added to all the selected groups of Text & Image ads that don't have user profile targeting yet.
