SPF record

The SPF record helps reduce the risk of email sent from an address on your domain being put in the recipient's spam folder. To configure the SPF record, create a TXT record with a list of servers that send email from your domain.

If you delegated your domain to Yandex servers, the SPF record is configured automatically.

General instructions for configuring SPF records

  1. Log in to your DNS hosting company's control panel.

    If you delegated your domain to Yandex servers, go to the Yandex.Connect DNS Editor.

  2. Create a new TXT record with the following field values (field names may be different in different control panels):

    • Valuev=spf1 redirect=_spf.yandex.net
      If you want to send email from non-Yandex servers as well, specify the additional servers in the format:
      v=spf1 ip4:IP-1 ip4:IP-2 ip4:IP-3 include:_spf.yandex.net ~all
      Where IP-1, IP-2, IP-3 are the IP addresses for additional servers.
    • Subdomain name or Host@

      In some management panels, you need to enter the name of your domain instead of the @ symbol (for example, example.com). If you aren't able to enter either @ or the domain name, leave this field empty.

      If this field is missing in the control panel, you don't need to set it.

    • If you need to fill in the TTL field, enter 21600.

  3. Wait for the changes to take effect in the DNS. It may take DNS servers up to 72 hours to exchange the updated DNS records.
