Add employees

Add employees to your company and start working together. You create employee accounts and host them on your domain or invite users with existing Yandex accounts.

Create an account for an employee

Restriction. To create accounts for employees, first you have to link an email domain for your company.

You can add up to 1000 employee accounts to a single organization. If you need to add more, please contact support.

  1. Log in to Yandex.Connect as an administrator.
  2. Open the All employees page.

  3. Select a department you want to add an employee to.

  4. At the bottom of the department column, choose Add → Add employee.

  5. Fill in the required fields:

    • Name and Last name, which will be visible in the shared address book, in chats, and in the department structure.

    • Birth date.

    • Gender.

    • Login that the employee will use to log in to Yandex.Connect, which will be this person's email address (for example, login@example.com).

    • Password for logging in to Yandex.Connect and One more time to confirm the password.

If an employee wants to log in to their Yandex.Mail or Yandex.Connect account, they need to enter their full email address (such as login@example.com) and password.

Invite employees

You can invite others to join your organization using their existing Yandex accounts in the format of login@yandex.com. You don't have to link an email domain or manually create each new employee account. Simply send your employees an invite.

Restriction. You can add up to 1000 employee accounts to a single organization. If you need to add more, please contact support.

To invite users to join your organization, do the following:

  1. Log in to Yandex.Connect as an administrator.
  2. Open the All employees page.

  3. Select the department you want to an employee to join.

  4. At the bottom of the department column, choose Add → Invite employees.

  5. List emails of the employees you want to invite. Yandex.Connect will then send them emails with an invite.

  6. To create an invite link, turn on the Enable access via invite link option. Such links can be easily sent via a messenger or posted on a website.

Users you invite can join your organization by creating a new employee account or using their existing Yandex account.

Restriction. The users won't be able to join if their account is hosted on another domain that follows the format login@example.com.

Import employee accounts

  • If your company uses Active Directory, you can import user accounts from it and automatically create employee accounts in Yandex.Connect.

  • You can transfer your existing corporate mailboxes and their contents to Yandex.Connect, even if they're hosted on another email service (be it a private server or a public one, such as Mail.Ru, Gmail, and others). Each imported mailbox will receive an associated employee account at your company. To learn more about importing mailbox, read the Importing mailboxes section.

External employees

External employees are users who are considered to be outside of your company while still having limited access to some of its resources. You can't create or invite external employees. All users with access to your company's Yandex.Metrica tracking tags are automatically converted into external employees.

Example

Your company uses a Yandex.Metrica tracking tag that can be accessed by a few outside users. If you link this tracking tag to your company, all users with access to it will become external employees. Such users can only access the tracking tag by default, but you can change their settings or make them your regular employees.

External employees don't have access to the following features:

I don't have access to Yandex.Messenger. External employees can't access Chats, no matter which settings you use.
