Configure versions and components

Restriction. By default, queue settings can only be accessed by the queue owner.

Versions and components are labels that help sort issues within a queue. Each queue has its own set of versions and components that can be assigned to issues.

You can use versions and components to:

  • Separate issues in the same queue that are related to different topics.

  • Configure access rights for issues that belong to different components.

  • Track changes to issues that are related to a particular component or version.

  • Automatically assign new issues to the component owner.

Add a component

  1. Open the queue page.

  2. Go to the Components tab.

  3. Click Create component.

  4. Enter the name for the component.

  5. If necessary, select the responsible person and fill in the component description.

  6. Select the option Assign to issues by default if you want new issues with this component to be automatically assigned to the component owner.

  7. Click Create.

Edit a component

  1. Open the queue page.

  2. Go to the Components tab.

  3. Hold the cursor over the component.

  4. Choose  → Edit .

  5. Make changes and click Save.

Add a version

  1. Open the queue page.

  2. Go to the Versions tab.

  3. Click Create version.

  4. Enter a name for the version.

  5. If necessary, enter the start and end dates and fill in the version description. This information is optional.

  6. Click Create.

Edit a version

  1. Open the queue page.

  2. Go to the Versions tab.

  3. Hold the cursor over the version.

  4. Choose  → Edit .

  5. Make changes and click Save.
