Cookie files

Cookies are small files where the browser can write data from the websites you visit. Normally, cookies are used for “recognizing” the visitor (for example, to avoid asking for the username and password of a user who was recently on this website).

Set up cookie processing

Attention! By default, the browser allows saving cookie files.

To configure cookie processing:

  1. Click the button

      Settings.
  2. In the lower part of the Settings page, click the Show advanced settings button.

  3. In the Privacy section, click Content settings.
  4. In the Cookie files section, set the desired parameters for handling cookies.
  5. Click the button

Automatically clear cookies

The browser can automatically delete cookies after each session. To set this up, follow these steps:

  1. Click the button

      Settings.
  2. In the lower part of the Settings page, click the Show advanced settings button.

  3. In the Privacy section, click Content settings.
  4. In the Cookie files section, select the option Allow local data to be set for the current session only.
  5. Click the button

Clearing cookies manually

To delete cookies:

  1. Click the button

    In the top right corner of the browser window

      AdvancedClear history.
  2. In the Delete the following items list, select the time range to delete cookies from.
  3. Select cookies and other site data (turn off the other options if you only want to delete cookie files).
  4. Click Clear browsing data.

Tip. To open the Clear browsing history window, press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Del (Windows) or + Shift + Del (Mac OS).

Remove or block cookies on a page

  1. Right-click the desired page.
  2. In the context menu, select View page info.
  3. Click the link Show cookies and site data. You will see a window with a list of cookies that are installed by this page.
  4. Select a cookie.
  5. Click Block or Remove.

Note. If cookies are blocked on a site, the icon appears in the right half of the SmartBox.
