# Personal data management

When you use the internet, your personal data (such as your browsing history, search queries, and correspondence) remains in the browser. On Yandex services, we store users' personal data with utmost care and make sure it's well-protected. All our repositories comply with [SOC 2](https://yandex.com/support/passport/security/soc-2.html), which is one of the most reliable international standards for managing user data.

You can download or delete your data:

{% cut "**Delete**" %}

1. Go to [Your data on Yandex](https://passport.yandex.com/profile/data) and make sure that you're logged in with the right Yandex ID.
1. In the **Delete data** section, click the button with the service name. You'll see a list of all the data types that Yandex stores for this service.

    {% note info %}

    If the service isn't there, click **Other services** at the bottom of the list.

    {% endnote %}

1. Select the line with the data type.
1. In the window that opens, click **Delete**. If you change your mind about deleting data, click **Cancel**.

After deletion, almost all data immediately become unavailable. Yandex will store some types of data for a period of time as is required by law.

{% endcut %}

{% cut "**Download**" %}

1. Go to [Your data on Yandex](https://passport.yandex.com/profile/data) and make sure that you're logged in with the right Yandex ID.
1. Click **Download data**.
1. Click **Create archive**.

Yandex will notify you by email when the archive is ready for download. If you don't have a Yandex email, you have to check the archive loading status on the page.

{% note info %}

The archive is password-protected. To learn how to get a password and open the archive, see the Yandex ID [Help](https://yandex.com/support/id/data.html#archive).

{% endnote %}

{% endcut %}
