SPF record

SPF records reduce the risk of an email from an address on your domain ending in the recipient's spam folder. To configure an SPF record, create a TXT record with a list of servers that are used to send mail from your domain.

If you delegated your domain to Yandex servers, the SPF record is configured automatically.

General instructions for configuring SPF records

  1. Log in to the domain (DNS zone) control panel on your DNS hosting company's website.

    If you delegated your domain to Yandex servers, go to the DNS editor in Yandex.Connect.

  2. Create a TXT record with the following values (the field names may differ for different control panels):

    • Valuev=spf1 redirect=_spf.yandex.net
      If you want to send email from non-Yandex servers as well, specify the additional servers in the format:
      v=spf1 ip4:IP-1 ip4:IP-2 ip4:IP-3 include:_spf.yandex.net ~all
      Where IP-1, IP-2, IP-3 are the IP addresses of additional servers.
    • Subdomain name (or Host) — @.

      In some control panels, in place of the @, you need to enter your domain name (for example, example.org.). If you can't enter a @ or your domain name, leave this field empty.

      If there's no such field in the control panel, it can be omitted.

    • If the TTL field is required, enter 21600.
  3. Wait for the changes to take effect. It may take up to 72 hours for DNS servers to exchange updated data about DNS records.
