The glossary provides definitions to the terms found in Yandex Business Help and the service itself.
A
Links in a company profile that redirect users to online bookings and appointments. Available to some business categories. To learn how to add action buttons, see Online booking and appointments in the company profile.
API (application programming interface) is a set of instructions and standards that different applications can use to communicate with each other. For example, you can use the Yandex API to add an action button to your company profile. For more information, see Online booking and appointments in the company card.

One of the companies in the chain. For more information, see Chain management.
A user who manages one or more chain branches.
A user who was entrusted by the Branch owner to manage data in Yandex Business.
Business category of a company displayed in the Yandex Business profile.
The user who first confirmed the rights to the company profile in Yandex Business.
A value from 1 to 5 calculated using scores and reviews left by Yandex users. For more information, see Business rating.

Multiple businesses belonging into a single group. If you have a chain, you can update information for multiple branches at the same time. You can also upload a single logo for the entire chain and add a price list for all branches in the region.
Click the active All branches in chain link in the branch profile in Yandex Maps to view all branches in the chain. For more information, see Chain management.
The user who confirmed the rights to the entire chain or was assigned the "Chain owner" role.
A user who was entrusted by the Chain owner to manage data in Yandex Business.
Information about the company displayed in the Yandex Business account. The company information displayed in the company profile in Yandex Maps includes:
A company that conducts similar business activities and belongs to the same or a related business category as your company.
Yandex Business searches for your competitors within a one-kilometer radius from your company. If little data is available, the radius automatically expands to five kilometers.

A text format file used to represent tabular data. You can use it to update data about business chains. For more information, see How to update chain information.

Clicks on your company profile made by users who found it by the name, location, address and other attributes.
For example, the user searched for [orlyonok mayakovskaya cinema], found the Orlyonok cinema near Mayakovskaya metro station, and clicked the company's profile.

Clicks on the company profile after a search for other companies, products, and services. For example:
Multiple company profiles that contain similar or identical information and describe the same company.

A tab in the company profile describing details that may be important to your customers: accessibility, Wi-Fi, parking and payment options, as well as whether customers can visit the company with children.

Additional materials we may request to confirm the address.
Reviewing company materials prior to publication. For example, photos, videos, and price lists are moderated.
Changing the company's address within one locality. If a company is moving to another city or changing its name or business category along with the address, these changes do not fall under the concept of moving — you'll need to create a new profile in Yandex Business.

The company's publications found in the News tab in Yandex Maps and Yandex Search. The most recent publications are displayed first.

A page in the Yandex Business account where you can subscribe to different messages from the service, including notifications about user changes in the company profile and statistics data.

A company that operates only online, by phone, or using delivery. It doesn't have an office that customers can visit. To learn more, see Information for online businesses.
A tab in the company profile in Yandex Maps. It displays basic information about the company: address, contact information, website, and location on the map.

POI (point of interest) is a placemark on Yandex Maps that looks like a client's company logo in Yandex Business. POI appears on the map at certain scales, and users don't need to type a search query to see it.
Using POI, you can get more targeted leads — that is, users who perform conversion actions in the company profile in Yandex Maps: for example, plot a route to your place, call, or view promotions.
Cards with text and photos that you can use to share information about your company. For example, you can create a post to advertise an exhibit, explain the terms and conditions for a promotion, announce new arrivals, or show users directions to your location. For more information, see Posts.
The option allows you to accept or reject any changes proposed by users to your company profile in Yandex Maps. Pre-moderation is available in the Yandex Business account under
.If you don't reject the changes in this section within three days, they are published automatically.
After processing, the changes are recorded in the Change history section with the Accepted or Rejected status.
A section in the Yandex Business account where you can add price lists with prices for products and services. For more information, see Price list.
The company's page in Yandex that contains all the information about the company. You can find a profile by name or business category in Yandex Search (displayed as a rich answer) or in Yandex Maps. For example, the profile contains company data, photos, posts, and promotional materials.
A special offer in the company profile. When the user clicks a promo announcement, they'll see a full description of the terms and duration of the promo.

A section in your account where you can download templates with a QR code and copy the embed code showing the company's rating. For more information, see Promotional materials.

Placemarks in Yandex Maps or Yandex Navigator that help you navigate the city. To learn more about adding reference points, see Reference point.
A user who manages the company profile.
A user who manages the company's website specified in its profile. Assigned in Yandex Webmaster.
The role is assigned automatically in Yandex Business if the user has the role in Yandex Webmaster.
An action button for collecting user requests. You can set up a request form in the
section.This is both a company and a physical location (a residential complex or a construction site that one can visit).
User opinions about their experience with a particular business. Users post reviews in Yandex Maps and Yandex Search.
All user reviews are displayed in Manage reviews.

For information about search queries by business category, see Statistics.
Yandex Maps and Yandex Navigator search can associate user queries with business categories. For example, the [where to eat] search will be associated with the “Cafe” category. A single search query can be associated with multiple categories.
The system also determines the center of the user's map while they type in the search query and counts the searches for the category within a one-kilometer radius from your business. If little data is available, the radius automatically expands to five kilometers.

A section in the company profile featuring a selection of similar places nearby. It's displayed in your profile in Yandex Search and Yandex Maps.
A section with the company's address, phone number, and other information from Yandex Business. For non-chain businesses, this section is added to the main page of the website in the search results.
The snippet is shown only for the site page that Yandex considers to be directly related to the business. Usually, it's the page with a detailed description of the business and its location. For more information, see .
A section in the Yandex Business account where you can see ad traffic data and the number of clicks on the company profile in Yandex Maps, Yandex Search, and Yandex Services.

The name of a geographic locality (city, village, street) as recorded in official documents. For example: the Volga River, the city of Moscow.

The role determines which actions users can perform in the Yandex Business account.
You can set up user roles for managing information about the company, chain, or branches.

The icon next to the company name. The icon is displayed for businesses whose representatives regularly update the company profile.
An image showing what the video is about. Users see it before the video player starts. When a video is uploaded, the default cover is a random frame. For more information, see Change the video cover image.
W
Webmaster Validator helps you check that the structure of export XML files for Yandex partner programs complies with the XSD schema. The tool makes it easier to debug export files and enables a faster delivery of user data to the databases of partner programs.
X
A text format file that represents data with certain identifiers and attributes. You can use it for chains with more than 30 branches. For more information, see How to update chain information.
Y
The service helps entrepreneurs add their businesses to Yandex Maps and Yandex Search and launch online advertising. Users don't need to install an application, as the solution is cloud-based.
A user's single account in Yandex. Use it to log in to all Yandex services.
The service allows users to draw and improve the map.
A free service where users can view a city map, find places, and plot routes there.
A free and powerful tool for website analytics. To make advertising more effective, add a Yandex Metrica tag and set up goals for your website or a Yandex Business site.
A free app for drivers where they can plot routes, find parking, pay fines, and buy fuel.
A service for real estate rental and sale ads.
The service helps site owners find out if their website can be easily found online. It offers tools for tracking and analyzing the site's page indexing, search ranking, and technical condition.

A product catalog in Yandex Market Language format used by Yandex Business to automatically load information from the user's website.
