History

Yandex Disk has been keeping a history of file changes and your actions on Yandex Disk since May 1, 2018. For example, if you accidentally delete important information from a file, you can go back to a previous version and restore it.

Previous versions of a file don't take up space on your Yandex Disk.

If you have a Yandex 360 Premium subscription, you can access the changelog for 90 days from file creation. Without a subscription, you can only view the changelog for 14 days from file creation.

  1. Viewing the history of file changes
  2. Versions of other people's public files
  3. Versions of files in shared folders
  4. Viewing Yandex Disk history

Viewing the history of file changes

To open the history of file changes:

  1. Select a file.
  2. Click  → Changelog in the upper panel or in the context menu.

The line of each version shows the date and time when the file was modified. If you change the file multiple times, these consequent file versions will be grouped together.

To see what changes were made in one of the older versions of a file, open it. If after that you want to replace the current version with the older one, click Restore and select Replace current one. If you need both the old and current versions, click Restore and select Save as copy.

Note. To learn more about the files you can open in Yandex Disk, go to View files and folders.

Versions of other people's public files

You can't view the changelog for other people's public files. If you save someone else's public file on your Yandex Disk, the changelog starts from that moment.

Versions of files in shared folders

The shared folder history shows changes made by all folder members. Whether the change history is available for 14 days or 90 days depends on whether the owner of the shared folder has Yandex 360 Premium.

Viewing Yandex Disk history

The History tab displays all events — all recent actions with files and folders on your Disk. In History, you can:

  • See what happened to files you can't find (you might have moved them to another location or deleted them). Search for events in History using the search bar or filters.
  • Make sure the history only displays your actions (to ensure that only you can access your Yandex Disk).

To reset a single filter, click again on the selected value. To reset all the filters, click Clear to the left of the filters.
