Problems with functionality

Video, music, or games are not playing

Try checking the Adobe Flash Player plug-ins, or disabling Turbo mode or browser extensions.

Solution 1. Check the Adobe Flash Player plug-in

More often than not, problems with playing videos on sites is due to errors in the Adobe Flash Player plug-in used for videos. It is possible that the browser is using several Flash player plug-ins and one of them is conflicting. Check the plug-ins used:

  1. In the SmartBox, enter the address browser://plugins.
  2. Press Enter.
  3. In the right part of the Plug-ins window, click Details.
  4. Expand the page and find the section with the header Adobe Flash Player.
  5. If there are several Shockwave Flash plug-ins in this section:
    • Disable the first plug-in and restart the browser.
    • If the error with video persists, enable the first plug-in again and disable the next one.
    • Restart the browser and check for errors.
    • Repeat these steps until you find the plug-in that's causing the error.

Note. For example, in the Adobe Flash Player section, click the first Disable link and restart the browser. If the error persists, turn the first plug-in back on in the same section and disable the next one. Restart the browser and check whether Flash is played. Follow these steps until you find the conflicting plug-in.

Solution 2. Turn off Turbo mode

The browser might be running in Turbo mode. To turn it off:

  1. Open Tableau.
  2. Go to the Extensions tab.
  3. Select the Tools section.
  4. Turn off Turbo.

Check whether the problem persists.

Solution 3. Disable blocking Flash banners and video

The browser might have an extension enabled that blocks Flash banners and videos. To disable the extension:

  1. Open Tableau .
  2. Go to the Extensions tab.
  3. Select the Internet security section.
  4. Turn off the Block Flash banners and videos extension.

Check whether the problem persists.

Shockwave crash

More often than not, problems with playing videos on sites is due to errors in the Adobe Flash Player plug-in used for videos. It is possible that the browser is using several Flash player plug-ins and one of them is conflicting. Check the plug-ins used:

Audio doesn't play on VK.com and Yandex.Music

The browser might have an extension enabled that blocks Flash banners and videos. To disable the extension:

  1. Open Tableau.
  2. Go to the Extensions tab.
  3. Select the Internet security section.
  4. Turn off the Block Flash banners and videos extension.

Check whether the problem persists.

Widgets disappear from the Tableau

Widgets shown on the Tableau change because the widget list is formed automatically from the pages that you visit most often.

To make a widget stay in the same place, you can pin it:

  1. Open Tableau.
  2. Click Settings in the lower-right corner of the Tableau.
  3. Pin the desired widget by clicking the button. For pinned widgets, this button looks like this: .
  4. Click Done.

Note. You can also pin a widget using the context menu by selecting Pin.

The background doesn't change on the Tableau page

Try deleting the File System folder in the browser profile directory and then check whether the problem persists. To go to the browser profile directory, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Copy the line

    [%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Yandex\YandexBrowser\User Data\Default\] (without the brackets)

    and paste it into the file search box.

  3. Press Enter.
  1. Click StartRun.
  2. Copy the line

    [%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Yandex\YandexBrowser\User Data\Default] (without the brackets)

    and paste it into the Open field.

  3. Press Enter.

On Linux, video doesn't work in the browser

If checking the plug-ins in use didn't help:

  1. Install the chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra library.
  2. Copy the libffmpeg.so file from the library.
  3. Replace the libffmpeg.so file in the browser folder with this file.
  4. Restart the browser.
