Protect: blocking dangerous content

Sometimes dangerous elements from infected resources (like banners, scripts, or sidebars) can show up on otherwise safe sites. Yandex.Browser blocks these elements by default. Information about infected and fraudulent websites is obtained from a special database compiled by Yandex and our partners.

How blocking works

If the site in question contains elements from infected sites, the browser warns you. If you get to the page by clicking the Ignore this warning button, your browser will display the page but block the dangerous elements. The right part of the SmartBox will display the icon.

You cannot load the blocked content, because it presents a serious risk to your computer. Because the browser only downloads secure elements, the page layout may be adversely affected.

Disable blocking

Attention! To allow dangerous content to load, you need to completely disable your shield against malicious software and websites in your browser. We do not recommend this.

To disable malware protection

  1. Click the icon  Settings.

  2. In the lower part of the Settings page, click the Show advanced settings button.

  3. In the Privacy section, disable the Protect from malicious websites and software option.
  4. Restart the browser to apply the changes.
