Downloading files may contain malicious software that enters your computer and prevents it from working; or steals, damages or deletes your information. Therefore, the browser scans all archives and executable files, whether downloaded by user request or in the background, by default.
Archived and executable files are checked during the download process. Yandex.Browser distinguishes certain file characteristics and sends them to be checked in the antivirus cloud on Yandex's server. Only the problematic part of the file is transferred to ensure that the security check goes as quickly as possible.
If a downloading file contains a malicious program, Yandex.Browser the infected extension is added to it. In this form the file cannot be opened from the browser or from any other software. This means it can't be a threat, although an antivirus program installed on your computer might consider it dangerous. The file will be stored on your hard drive until you decide whether to delete or unblock it.

Now the infected filename extension will be removed, and you will be able to open the file.
If an error occurs when checking the file, the browser will re-check it. If the browser can't connect with the server when attempting to re-check the file, then the file will remain unchecked. The browser will notify you when you try to open the file. In this case you will have to check the file manually:
