Notifications from social networks and email

What kind of notifications are there?

Yandex.Browser can display personal pop-up notifications:

  • Yandex.Mail, if you got a new message.
  • From VK social network, if you have received a new message, comment, or friend request.
  • From other websites that you have granted permission to send notifications to you.

Actions with notifications

  • To go to the site that the notification came from, click the notification.
  • To hide the message's author and text in the notification so that only the subject is visible, click .
  • To personalize notifications, click .

Enabling notifications

Yandex.Browser asks if you want to enable notifications the first time you visit the social network:

If you declined, you can turn this feature on later in Settings.

Disabling notifications

To switch to “silent mode” (temporarily turn off all pop-up notifications):

  1. click the icon  Settings.
  2. In the Notifications section, click Disable all notifications for three hours.

To completely disable pop-up notifications:

  1. click the icon  Settings.
  2. In the Notifications section, click Notification settings.
  3. Go to the VKontakte section.
  4. Select one of the following options:
    • Turn off the Notifications enabled option. In this case, your social network login data is saved in Yandex.Browser. To re-enable notifications, just turn on this option again.
    • Click the Disable button. In this case, the browser deletes the social network login information it has stored. To restore showing notifications, you will need to turn on the Notifications enabled option and enter your social network login information in the browser again.

How do I set up notifications?

  1. click the icon  Settings.
  2. In the Notifications section, click Notification settings.
  3. Select the desired options in the Yandex.Mail section.
