Location data

Using location information

Some websites may use information about your location in order to display information that is relevant to you, such as the weather, traffic, or a map. For example, if you transmit your location to a website that specializes in restaurant reviews, it can suggest reviews of cafes and restaurants nearest to your current location.

The location is determined by the nearest wireless access points and the IP address of your computer.

Attention! Yandex.Browser never sends your location data without your permission.

How can I allow a website to detect my location?

If a site requests information about where you are located, you will be notified of this at the top of the page. The information will not be given to the site unless you click the Yes button.

If you gave permission to transmit your location information to a website or one of its components (such as a map), the address bar shows the icon as a reminder. Click the icon to see details or prohibit access to your location information.
