What are exceptions and how do I set them up?

Various processing rules can be set for site elements. You can also set exceptions for a specific site, and different rules will apply to that site.

You can set exceptions for the following elements in the browser settings: cookies, images, JavaScript, plug-ins, pop-ups, the mouse cursor, and automatic file downloads.

Setting an exception for a specific site

  1. click the icon  Settings.
  2. In the lower half of the Settings page, click Show advanced settings.
  3. In the Privacy section, click Content settings
  4. In the appropriate section, click Manage exceptions.
  5. Enter the site address in the box.
  6. Select an action in the drop-down list: Block, Allow, or For the current session.
  7. Click Done.

Note. The For the current session option for cookie exceptions allows saving cookie files only during the current session (until the browser is closed).

Removing an exception

  1. click the icon  Settings.
  2. In the lower half of the Settings page, click Show advanced settings.
  3. In the Privacy section, click Content settings
  4. In the desired section, click Manage exceptions.
  5. Click in the line with the corresponding site address.

How can I find out which elements are blocked on a page?

In many cases, icons appear in the right half of the address bar indicating that:

  • — cookies are blocked on the site
  • — images are blocked on the site
  • — JavaScript is blocked on the site
  • — plug-ins are blocked on the site

To find out which elements are blocked on a page:

  1. Right-click on the page.
  2. In the context menu, select View page info.

A menu will open that lists all the permissions for this page.
