Permissions

Yandex Browser for Mobile requires access rights and permissions to function properly. Some of them are requested during installation, others when a certain function is launched.

Access to notifications

Required to send reminders from Yandex services.

If during installation you refused to provide Yandex Browser with access to notifications, you can do it later:

1. Open your tablet settings.
2. Select Notifications → Yandex Browser.
3. Enable Allow notifications.

Access to activity tracking

Required for Yandex Search to consider your interests.

If during installation you refused to allow Yandex Browser to track your activities in apps and on websites, you can do it later:

1. Open your tablet settings.
2. Select Privacy & Security → Tracking.
3. Enable the option for Yandex Browser.

Access to microphone

Required for voice search.

If during installation you refused to provide Yandex Browser with access to microphone, you can do it later:

1. Open your tablet settings.
2. Select Privacy & security → Microphone.
3. Enable the option for Yandex Browser.

Access the camera

Required for image search.

If during installation you refused to provide Yandex Browser with access to camera, you can do it later:

1. Open your tablet settings.
2. Select Privacy & security → Camera.
3. Enable the option for Yandex Browser.

Location

Your location is used in the following cases:

• Websites can show you the most relevant information (for example, the local weather or traffic info on a map).
• The SmartBox shows more accurate search suggestions, for example, about the weather.
• Settings show a list of search engines used in your region.
• The Tableau displays a default collection of sites for your region.

If during installation you refused to provide Yandex Browser with access to location, you can do it later:

1. Open your tablet settings.
2. Tap Apps → Yandex Browser.
3. Allow access to your location when using the app.
