Comfortable web page reading

In order to make reading pages on the tablet easier, turn on reading mode, use word wrap, and change the page display scaling.

  1. Reader mode
  2. Text wrap (auto-fit)
  3. Text zoom
  4. Full website version

Reader mode

When you view a page in Reader mode, you can only see the text and the images (videos) contained in the text. Other page elements (banners, interactive elements, or social media buttons) are hidden.

Switch to Reader mode

Tap in the SmartBox.

Restriction. If you can't see Reader mode in the menu and there's no icon in the SmartBox, it means that Reader mode is not available for this page.
Exit Reader mode

Tap in the SmartBox.

Text wrap (auto-fit)

If you increase the page zoom on a website, the text may go off the screen. Turn on the Auto-fit option so you won't have to scroll horizontally in order to read a sentence.

Turn on auto-fit
  1. Tap   → Settings.
  2. In the Text zoom and auto-fit section, enable Auto-fit text to screen.

Text zoom

You can make the page font larger or smaller:

  1. Tap   → Settings.
  2. Go to Text zoom and auto-fit and use the slider to choose the zoom level.

If the word wrap option is on, the slider is inactive. Turn it off to change the zoom.

Note. Some sites do not allow browsers to change the text zoom. If you still want to change the zoom, go to Text zoom and auto-fit and turn on Ignore site requests to forbid font zoom.

Full website version

Mobile site versions are displayed in the browser by default. To open the full version:

Tap  → Desktop version.

To go back to the mobile version, tap   → Mobile version.
