## How can I update the app? {#update}

The device's operating system automatically detects when there is an update for the app and asks if you want to install it. You can also manually update Yandex Browser to the latest version:


1. Open the **Google Play** app.




1. In the top-right corner, tap your profile picture.


    
1. Open **Manage apps & device**.



    
1. In the **Updates available** section, tap **More**.
    
1. Find **Yandex Browser** and tap **Update**.

    If Yandex Browser is not on the list, or you see the “All apps are up-to-date” notification, it means you have the latest version installed.

## How do I set the default browser? {#default}

Tap ![](../_assets/settings-menu-icon.png =22x) → **Set as default**.


## Uninstall Yandex Browser {#delete}


1. Open the **Google Play** app on your mobile device.    
1. In the upper right corner of the screen, tap your account icon.
1. Select **Manage apps & device** → **Manage**.
1. Select **Yandex Browser** and tap the ![](../_assets/delete-ios-icon.png =22x) icon in the upper right corner.
1. Click **Remove**.

Yandex Browser is constantly being improved: we add new features and update the security system so you can safely work online. Only the latest browser version gives you maximum protection against internet-based threats.

To disable automatic browser updates:


1. Go to **Google Play** settings.

1. In the **My apps & games** → **Installed** section, select Yandex Browser.

1. At the top right, tap ![](../_assets/settings-icon.png =22x) and deselect **Auto-update**.

Updates don't always add new features, but they improve app performance, optimize the way the app works, and give you more security and protection against viruses and malware.

To install Yandex Browser, you need at least 100 MB of free internal memory on your tablet. If necessary, free up the space.
