Text translation in the camera

Restriction. This feature works only with an internet connection.

You can use Yandex Browser for Mobile to translate text in a photo, ad, or road sign. To do this, point your camera at the text, and the translation will appear on top of the text in the original language.

Note. Allow Yandex Browser to access your camera and files in the device settings.
  1. Open Yandex Browser and click in the Smartbox.
  2. Swipe the screen to the left. Yandex Translate opens.
  3. At the top, choose the source and target languages.
  4. Point your camera at the text or choose an image with text from your device's gallery. Wait until Yandex Translate processes the text.

  5. Tap to:

    • Copy text.
    • Open text in Yandex Translate if the translation is incorrect or incomplete.
