Ad blocking by 3rd-party extensions

Attention. This function is not available for all users since it's still being developed.

You can use extensions to block ads in Yandex Browser Install an extension that is supported by the browser on your smartphone, and it will block ads on websites.

Which extensions are supported

Yandex Browser supports ad-blocking extension that are compatible with Samsung Internet for Android, such as:

Unlike Antishock, which only blocks disturbing ads, 3rd-party extensions have their own blocking criteria. An outside extension is also responsible for updating ad filters.

Note. Developers of ad-blocking extensions can integrate them with Yandex Browser using the Content Blocking API. Keep in mind that if an extension is compatible with Samsung Internet for Android, then it will automatically work with Yandex Browser.

Enabling and disabling content blocking

To turn on ad blocking:

  1. Tap (if you don't see the icon, press the menu button on your smartphone).
  2. Choose Settings.
  3. Go to the Content blocking section.
  4. Tap Blocking extensions.
  5. A list of ad-blocking extensions installed on your smartphone will appear on your screen. Select the extension that you want to use.

To disable ad blocking, open your list of extensions and select Disable. If you delete the extensions in your list from a smartphone, the Disabled option will be selected automatically.

Controlling ad blocking on individual sites

From time to time, you might find that you need to allow certain sites to display ads. For example, when the extension blocked necessary page elements along with an ad, or when a site won't open while ad blocking is enabled.

Unblock ads on a site
  1. Tap (if you don't see the icon, press the menu button on your smartphone).
  2. Tap Unblock contents.

To resume ad blocking, tap Block content.
