Tab groups
What are tab groups for?
With tab groups, you can easily organize your browser. You can create new groups, organize tabs into them, open cloud tab groups on different devices (if syncing is enabled), and move tabs between groups to make working with open tabs as convenient as possible.
When you open the new tab screen, a switch between groups is displayed at the top center. The switch shows the name of the group you are currently in:

Samsung (if you have a Samsung) — when no tab groups have been created on the smartphone yet. Here you can see the tabs that are not placed in any group.
Note
Samsung (if you have a Samsung) — default tab names. If you want to change it, tap and hold the group until the context menu appears, then select Edit.

Group name — when other tab groups have been created on the smartphone.
Create tab group

On the bottom panel, tap
.

At the top center of the screen, tap Samsung (if you have a Samsung) or the name of the tab group.

In the bottom panel, select Create tab group.

Enter the name of the new tab group.

To make the group available on all your devices where syncing is enabled and Yandex Browser is installed, enable the Cloud group option.
Note
If you want all your new groups to be stored in the cloud:

→ Tab group → Create new groups in the cloud. When creating a separate group, you can always disable its syncing.

Tap Create.
The group will open. Its name will be displayed at the top center of the screen. All sites will open in this group until you switch to another one.
Switch to another tab group

On the bottom panel, tap
.

At the top center of the screen, tap Samsung (if you have a Samsung) or the name of the tab group.
A list of all available groups and tabs will open:
- at the top of the list — window tabs from your other devices;
- below the separator — tab groups:
– cloud groups from your synced devices;
– local groups from this device. To store them in the cloud, tap
.

Tap the desired group or Samsung (if you have a Samsung).
Note
To switch to another tab within the same group, tap the icon with the number of tabs (, if three tabs are open) and select the desired tab.
Actions with tab groups
Store a group in the cloud or remove it from the cloud
Main method

At the top center of the screen, tap Samsung (if you have a Samsung) or the name of the tab group.

To the right of the group, tap the icon:
— to store the group in the cloud. It will be available from any of your devices where Yandex Browser is installed and syncing is enabled.
— to remove the group from the cloud. The group will remain only on your current device and will be deleted from all other devices.

Confirm your choice.

Additional method
- At the top center of the screen, tap Samsung (if you have a Samsung) or the name of the tab group.
- In the window that opens at the bottom, tap Change above the list of synced tab groups.
- To the right of the group, tap
→ Upload a group to cloud/Remove from cloud.
- Confirm your choice.
Editing
Note
Samsung (if you have a Samsung) cannot be renamed.

- Change the group name.
- Tap Save.

- Tap Save.
Move a single tab
Main method

- At the top center of the screen, tap Samsung (if you have a Samsung) or the name of the tab group.
- Tap and hold the desired tab until the context menu appears.
- Select Move to group.
- Select the tab group you want to move the tab to.
- Click Import.
Additional method
- Open the tab you want to move.
- In the bottom right corner of the screen, tap
→ Move to group.
- Select the tab group you want to move the tab to.
- Click Import.
Move tabs to...
Main method

- Select the tab group you want to move the tabs to.
- Click Import.

- Select the tab group you want to move the tabs to.

Close group tabs
Note
Action unavailable when there are no tabs in the group.
Main method

- Tap and hold the desired group until the context menu appears.
- Select Close group tabs → Clear. The group tabs will be closed, and the tab group will remain.
Additional method
- At the top center of the screen, tap Samsung (if you have a Samsung) or the name of the tab group.
- In the window that opens at the bottom, tap Change above the list of synced tab groups.
- To the right of the group, tap
→ Close group tabs → Close group tabs → Clear. The group tabs will be closed, and the tab group will remain.
Delete group
Note
Samsung (if you have a Samsung) cannot be deleted.
Main method

- At the top center of the screen, tap Samsung (if you have a Samsung) or the name of the tab group.
- Tap and hold the desired group until the context menu appears.
- Select Delete group and confirm deletion.
Additional method
- At the top center of the screen, tap Samsung (if you have a Samsung) or the name of the tab group.
- In the window that opens at the bottom, tap Change above the list of synced tab groups.
- To the right of the group you want to delete, tap
→ Delete group and confirm deletion.
