Editor

The editor can help you write, edit, and improve text using the YandexGPT neural network. It can correct errors, improve style, shorten the text or translate it into another language. This is convenient for preparing any text: from emails and social media posts to scientific articles and literary works.

Open

The editor has two modes:

Tab

The editor opens in a separate tab, which is convenient when working with large volumes of text or when needing to switch between multiple tasks.

Use one of the following methods to open the editor:

  • Tap  → .

  • On the bottom panel, tap . Under the Tableau, select Editor.

If you don’t see the Editor button, make sure the option is enabled in the settings:

  1. Tap  → .

  2. In the Cards on the Home screen section, enable the Neural tools option.

Contextual editor

The editor opens in the current tab along with the virtual keyboard. You can create a new text or make changes to an existing one without switching between tabs.

To open the editor:

  1. Tap on the input field on the website.

  2. Above the virtual keyboard, select or another action.

If you don’t see the editor buttons, make sure the option is enabled in the settings:

  1. Tap  → .

  2. In the Editor section, enable the Show editor buttons above the keyboard option.

Working with text

  1. Open the editor.

  2. Add text in one of the following ways:

    • Write text in the input field.

    • Tap the Paste text button.

    • Ask YandexGPT to write the text for you. To do this, enter your request in the Create text line and tap .

    Note

    You can add text of any volume to the editor. However, if it exceeds 10,000 characters, it will not be possible to improve or translate the entire text. To edit a large text, highlight fragments and work with them one at a time.

  3. Choose what to do with the text:

    Create text

    In the editor, you can ask YandexGPT to create new text or make changes to an existing one. To do this:

    1. Tap the input line. The editor will suggest request options. Choose one that suits you or enter your own.

    2. Tap .

    To stop text generation, tap .

    To get another variation, tap .

    Fix errors

    To correct grammatical and punctuation errors:

    1. Tap .

    2. Corrected words and symbols will be highlighted in green. If you click on a word, the original version will be displayed. To revert the change, tap .

    3. Click Finish.

    Translate

    To translate the text into another language:

    1. Tap .

    2. By default, the editor will suggest the language that was used previously. If the suggested language is not what you need, go to the “Translated into...” window and tap Change language → then select the desired language.

    3. Click Ok.

    Rewrite

    To change the style of the text:

    1. Tap .

    2. Select an option:

      • Decorate — makes the text more pleasant to read and perceive.

      • Rephrase — reformulates the text while preserving the original meaning.

      • Shorten — shortens the text by removing unnecessary words and repetitions.

      • Simplify — makes the text more understandable.

      • Complicate — uses long and complex sentences, as well as special terms.

      • Increase formality — gives the text a more formal tone.

      • Use colloquial style — makes the text simple and informal.

    To undo or redo an action in the editor, tap  or .

  4. Apply text:

    — copy.

    — share.

Syncing

Syncing allows you to save texts and edit them on all your devices.

Note

If the number of characters in the text exceeds 40,000 or the total number of texts exceeds 500, syncing will not be possible.

To enable syncing:

  1. Open the editor in tab mode.

  2. Tap  → History →  → Enable syncing.

  3. In the Syncing section, enable the Editor option.

  4. Check the status:

    — syncing is enabled, texts are available on your other devices;

    — syncing is not working (no internet, update is required, or syncing text limit is exceeded).

History

History allows you to view and restore previous versions of texts.

To view the history:

  1. Open the editor in tab mode.

  2. Tap  → History.

To delete a text from your history, swipe it to the left and tap . To undo the deletion, tap Undo.
