Importing settings

Classic Yandex.Browser can load your bookmarks, browsing history, and other settings from another browser that is installed on your computer.

Automatic settings import

When installing classic Yandex.Browser the settings from your previous default browser will be imported automatically. The type of data that is imported depends on the browser it is transferred from.

Note. If Mozilla Firefox has a master password set, classic Yandex.Browser cannot import saved passwords for websites.

Canceling automatic import

When running classic Yandex.Browser for the first time, a message will appear about importing settings from your previous default browser. If you don't want to import the settings, click Cancel. All imported settings will be canceled.

Manual settings import

After installing classic Yandex.Browser, you can import settings yourself. For example, to import settings from a browser not set as your default browser or to only import some settings.

To import settings

  1. Click   → Settings.
  2. In the User Profiles section, click the Import bookmarks and settings button.
  3. Go to the Bookmarks and Settings Import window and select the browser you want to import settings and other components from.
  4. Click the Import button.
