Browser is slow
Turn off extensions
- In the SmartBox, enter the address browser://tune.
- Set all the options to Off.

Turn off Turbo mode
In Turbo mode, loading pages are compressed on Yandex servers. This usually speeds up the browser significantly. However, if the user’s computer is located very far from Yandex servers, the advantage of compressing contents may be lost due to the fact that the page is not sent to the user directly, but via a Yandex server.
Check whether turning off Turbo speeds up the browser:
- In the lower half of the Settings page, click Show advanced settings.
- In the Turbo section, set the option to Off.

Clear the cache
- Click .
- In the Delete the following items list, select the time range to delete the cache for.
- Select the cached files option.
- Turn off all the other options (if you only want to delete the browser cache).
- Click Clear browsing data.

The browser creates too many processes
You don't need to worry if there are a lot of processes running. All browsers based on the Chromium engine work like this. Each browser window, as well as certain extensions and plug-ins, is a separate process that won’t affect other tabs and extensions in the event of a failure.
The browser uses too much memory
The amount of RAM consumed depends on the type of content on an open page.
On average, with several tabs open, the browser consumes from 300 to 1000 MB of RAM. If a page has complex Flash objects, memory consumption may exceed 1000 MB.
The number of extensions activated in the browser also affects the amount of memory consumed.
