Actions with tabs
You can perform the following actions with tabs:
- Enable sound on tab— click
to the right of the tab name.
- Open tab in background — right-click the link and select Open link in new tab.
- Open a tab in a new window — right-click the link and select Open link in new window.
- Open a recently closed tab — open the Tableau and click Recent under the Tableau or right-click the tab and select Reopen closed tab.
- Go to the top of the page — To quickly navigate to the top of the page, click the tab. To go back to the original position, click the tab again.
- Move tab — Click and hold the tab. Then move it to the left or right.
- Pin tab — Right-click the tab and select Pin tab.
- Duplicate tab — Right-click the tab and select Duplicate.
- Print tab contents — Right-click the page and select Print.
- Close tab — Hover your mouse over the tab title and click the
icon that appears.
- Close all tabs except the selected one — right-click the tab and select Close other tabs.
Manage tabs
When a lot of tabs are open, they may become difficult to navigate. Yandex Browser contains a special panel for managing a large number of tabs. The panel displays tabs in a vertical list grouped by windows.
To open the tab control panel, click on the side panel or press the following keys: Ctrl + Shift + E in Windows.


To manage tabs, you can use:
- Select the desired tabs.
- Click the icon:
— To copy tab addresses.
— To move tabs to a new window.
— To close tabs.
— To deselect.
- Select the tabs.
- Right-click the selected tabs.
- Select the desired action in the context menu.
Tabs style and location
You can move tabs to the bottom of the browser window:
- Tap .
- Go to Interface.
- In the Tabs section, click Tab appearance.
- In the Location section, select Bottom.
Then the tabs will move to the bottom. To move tabs to the top, go to Tab appearance in the settings and select Top.
To change the tab style:
- Click .
- Go to Interface.
- In the Tabs section, click Tab appearance.
- In the Style section, select a shape.

Number and size of tabs
There is no limit on the number of tabs you can have open in Yandex Browser. However, having a lot of tabs open may overload your computer processor and memory.
- Tab width

If you have more than 50 tabs open in the browser, a horizontal scrolling icon
will appear to the right of them. To avoid the tabs becoming too small when you have a lot of them open:
- Tap .
- Go to Interface.
- In the Tabs section, select the Limit minimum tab width option.
- Tab preview

Many open tabs become difficult to navigate. So when you hover the mouse cursor over a tab, the browser displays a thumbnail of the page. If you want to disable tab preview:
- Tap .
- Go to Interface.
- In the Tabs section, disable the Show tab thumbnails on hoveroption.
Sync tabs
After synching all your devices with a Yandex account, you can view tabs that are open on your other computer, tablet, or smartphone. This feature is useful in the following situations:
- If you have two computers — a work computer and a home computer. For example, let's say that you looked at a website on your work computer and didn't close the tab. When you're back at home, you can just open the tab and continue working.
- If you have a mobile device and a computer. For example, you might find an interesting website on your smartphone or tablet and decide that you want to view it on a larger screen.
- Synchronization conditions

- All devices (computer, smartphone, tablet) must have Yandex Browser installed on them.
- You must have syncing enabled on all your devices.
- You must use the same Yandex account on all the devices you want to sync.

Restoring tabs after reinstalling
If you want to save all your tabs when you reinstall your browser:
- Close all browser windows.
- Open the Control Panel.
- Go to.
- In the Uninstall or change program window, select the Yandex program.
- Click Uninstall at the top of the list.
- In the window that opens, click Delete and make sure the Delete browser settings, browser history, and other data option is not selected.
- Click Delete browser.
- Install the browser again.
- What if the browser data and settings have already been deleted?

If you selected the Delete browser settings, browser history, and other data option or clicked Reinstall as you deleted the browser, you won't be able to restore the previously opened tabs. However, you can view your tabs in your synced history:
If you enabled syncing, you can access the tabs that were open on your computer before you reinstalled your system. The syncing process is linked to your device name, which typically changes when you reinstall your OS. When you sync your computer using a new name, the browser thinks that it is a new device. That's why the Other devices tab displays a folder with your computer's old name. You can use it to view the tabs that were open in the browser before reinstalling the OS. To do this:
- Install the Yandex Browser beta version.
- Turn on syncing.
- Tap .
- Go to the Other devices tab.
- Open the folder with your computer's old name. In theOpen tabs section under the list of websites on the Tableau, you will see a list of tabs open in the Yandex Browser beta version before reinstalling.Tip. To open all the tabs in the list at the same time, click the header of the Open tabs section.
If your computer's name hasn't changed after you reinstalled the OS, you won't see this folder, as the browser will not think that your computer is a different device. To see the folder:
- Rename your computer:.
- Wait for the data to sync with the server.
- Go to the Other devices tab and open the folder with the old name of your computer.
Problems with tabs
- Tap .
- Click Sync settings.
- Go to What to sync and make sure that the Open tabs option is selected.
- The Open previously-opened tabs upon browser start option is disabled ( ).
- You closed the browser with multiple windows open. After restarting, the browser restores the window that was closed last. Tabs from another window don't open.
- An error occurred in the browser.
- Close the empty window.
- Press the Ctrl + Shift + Q keys to close the frozen browser processes.
- Restart the browser. Now it will be opening with the tabs you previously opened.
- Open the browser.
- Click the
icon to the right of the tabs.
- Click Recent under the Tableau.
- Open the browser.
- Click.
- Click the row with the number of tabs from the previous session.
You can use the task manager to close malfunctioning tabs and view Yandex Browser performance statistics. To open the task manager, click or press the Shift + Esc keys.

Tabs for browser sessions that were recently closed are grouped and displayed as . The number of tabs in the session is indicated next to it. Click this icon to open all the grouped tabs in a new browser window.
To view the full list of your previously opened tabs, click Show entire history at the bottom of the page.

To drag a browser window, use the SmartBox area outside the text field. The mouse pointer should look like . If you your mouse cursor looks like
when you hover the mouse over the SmartBox, move the mouse to the right.
