My profile is an online workspace that stores your settings, browsing history, bookmarks, open tabs, cookies, site logins, and payment methods.
To access this data across all your devices, log in to the Yandex Browser beta version with your Yandex ID.
Tip
Link your main account that you use on Yandex services to the profile.
Syncing this data helps you to:
Access your data across all your devices.
Quickly restore your data after reinstalling Yandex Browser.
Use Yandex Browser tools (such as autofill for data, passwords, and card details, Alice, and video translation) without logging in.
Easily access Yandex services like Yandex Market and Yandex Music through Yandex Browser.
In the upper-right corner, click your profile picture and select My profile in Yandex Browser.
Managing data
By default, all your data is synced with your Yandex ID account so you can access it from any device. To customize the types of synced data, disable the options you don't need:
In the upper-right corner, click your profile picture, then select My profile in Yandex Browser → Manage data.
Select which data you want to sync with your account:
The data you choose not to sync is stored only on your current device and will be permanently lost if you delete your profile or uninstall Yandex Browser.
Adding a profile
A profile is created automatically when you open Yandex Browser for the first time. To use multiple profiles associated with different accounts, in the upper-right corner, click your profile picture and select Add profile.
Link accounts to the newly created profiles.
Editing a profile
You can only edit your currently active profile. If multiple profiles are associated with your device, first log in to the desired profile. To do this, in the upper-right corner, click your profile picture and select the profile you want to edit under Other profiles.
In the upper-right corner, click your profile picture, then select My profile in Yandex Browser → Edit profile.
Click Редактировать and edit the desired fields: your avatar, profile name, or personal info like your first name, last name, gender, or birth date.
Note
If your profile isn't linked to an account, you can change its name and avatar directly.
If your profile is linked to an account, the name and avatar are imported from your Yandex ID and can only be changed in your Yandex ID profile.
In the upper-right corner, click your profile picture.
Select the new profile you want to import the data to.
From the new profile, log in with the Yandex ID you used to save the data in the old profile. The data from the old profile linked to your Yandex ID will be imported to the new one automatically.
Tip
Don't delete your old profile until you're sure that all data has been successfully imported.
Log in with your Yandex ID. The data from the deleted profile linked to your Yandex ID will be imported to the new one automatically.
If you didn't sync the profile data:
In the upper-right corner, click your profile picture.
A window listing all your profiles opens. Count them.
Open the folder with your profile data at the following path:
Operating system
Folder location
Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Windows 11
C:\Users\[Your username]\AppData\Local\Yandex\YandexBrowser\User Data
Note
The AppData folder is hidden. To see it, enable hidden folder display.
Win XP
C:\Documents and Settings\[Your username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Yandex\YandexBrowser\User Data
Linux
~/.cache/yandex-browser-beta/
Check if your device still contains a folder with data from the deleted profile.
Profile folders are named either Default or Profile №. If the number of folders matches the number of profiles listed in Yandex Browser, you won't be able to restore the deleted profile. If you have more folders than profiles in Yandex Browser, it means one of the folders contains data from your deleted profile. In most cases, this is the Default folder.
For easier access to the new Yandex Browser profile, select Show a desktop icon for this profile when creating it.
Close the browser by clicking Настройки Яндекс Браузера → Close Yandex Browser or pressing Ctrl + Shift + Q (on Windows).
A new folder named Profile № (for example, Profile 2 if Profile 1 already exists) appears in the profile data folder. Open it.
Copy all files from the folder associated with the deleted profile.
Paste the files into the new profile folder.
Confirm the file import. The data from the deleted profile will be imported to the new one.
Deleting Yandex Browser data from your Yandex ID account
In the upper-right corner, click your profile picture, then select My profile in Yandex Browser → Manage data.
Under the list of profile data, click Delete data from Yandex ID account.
In the window that opens, confirm that you want to delete the data from your account.
Note
After deletion, the data will no longer be stored in Yandex and will remain only on the devices that were linked to your account.
Import from other browsers
In the upper-right corner, click your profile picture, then select My profile in Yandex Browser → Import data from other browsers.
Choose an import source:
Microsoft Internet Explorer
Opera
Google Chrome
HTTP file with bookmarks
Select the desired data and click Import.
Logging out
In the upper-right corner, click your profile picture, then select My profile in Yandex Browser → Sign out.
To delete the profile after you log out of the account, in the window that opens, select Delete profile and all user data from this device.
Click Sign out.
Note
When you log out of your account, Yandex saves its associated data so you can access it from any device after logging in to Yandex Browser with the same account.
Multiple users
If multiple people use your computer, create separate profiles for their accounts. This way, your information and Yandex Browser settings will not get mixed up with someone else's. You can also use an additional profile if you have multiple Yandex IDs (for example, a personal and work ID) to store their data separately.
Tip
You can use multiple profiles, linking one to your personal account and another to your work account. This allows you to keep your data separate and automatically open sites under the appropriate account.
FAQ
Can I restore deleted data from my Yandex ID account?
When you delete your account data, the data sync settings are disabled. If you haven't deleted your Yandex Browser profile, you can still restore the data you deleted from your Yandex ID account. To do this:
In the upper-right corner, click your profile picture, then select My profile in Yandex Browser → Manage data.
Enable the setting for the types of data you want to restore for your account.
If you have system cleaning utilities (such as CCleaner) installed, make sure they aren't deleting Yandex Browser files. Disable your system cleaners temporarily or configure them so they don't delete Yandex Browser data.
Disable some applications
Some utilities or antivirus software with anti-tracking and cookie auto-clean features may clear your site login data. Examples include AdGuard, Adblock, Self-Destructing Cookies, Kaspersky Antivirus, and 360 Total Security. If you have such software installed, disable the anti-tracking and auto-clean features in their settings.
Turn off extensions
Some extensions may clear your login data. Here's how you can check your installed extensions:
Click Настройки Яндекс Браузера → Extensions and turn off all extensions.
Restart Yandex Browser: close it by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Q (on Windows and Linux) or ⌘ + Q (on macOS), then open it again.
Clear your cache so Yandex Browser doesn't load a copy of the page that was saved earlier.
If this solves your problem, go through your extensions and turn them back on until you find the one that causes the problem. Restart Yandex Browser every time.
Disable this extension. You may want to let the developers know about the problem.
