Importing settings

Yandex.Browser can transfer bookmarks, browsing history and other settings from another browser installed on your computer.

Automatic settings import

When you install Yandex.Browser your settings will be automatically transferred from the browser previously set as your default browser. The type of data that is imported depends on the browser it is transferred from.

Note. If a master password is set in Mozilla Firefox, Yandex.Browser will not be able to import saved website passwords. Passwords of Mac OS users are also not imported from Mozilla Firefox.

Canceling automatic import

The first time you launch Yandex.Browser you will see a message that the settings have been transferred from the browser previously set as the default. If you don't want to import the settings, click Cancel. All imported settings will be canceled.

Manual settings import

After you install Yandex.Browser you can import settings yourself. For example, to import settings from a browser not set as your default browser or to only import some settings.

To import settings

  1. Click   → Settings.
  2. In the User Profiles section, click the Import bookmarks and settings button.
  3. Go to the Bookmarks and Settings Import window and select the browser you want to import settings and other components from.
  4. Click the Import button.
