You can create a segment based on data about users in specific locations. In the Segments tab, click Create segment, choose Based on Yandex data → Locations, and enter the segment name. Then choose a suitable way to add locations:
Search for locations or mark them on the map, and then add them to your segment.
You can search for locations by using names, addresses or geographical coordinates. Coordinates must be written without the degree symbol (°), dashes or extra letters. For example: 55.755831,37.617673. Your search will only cover the visible area of the map.
Found locations are added to the Search section and identified on the map with blue markers. You can add all the found locations to a segment with a single button. To add a specific location to the segment, click its row in the list or the marker on the map.
After it is added to the segment, the location marker turns red, and the row with the address or coordinates ends up in the Locations section. You can add a maximum of 1000 locations to a segment (no more than 100 for the condition Audience: was present N days per period).
To remove a location, click its marker on the map. The marker will turn blue, and the row with the address or coordinates disappears from the Locations section.
Type in or paste a list of desired addresses or geographical coordinates, with one location per line. Then click Add to locations. If there are no locations found for a line, or multiple locations are found for one line, then this line is ignored when adding locations.
You can add a maximum of 1000 locations to a segment (no more than 100 for the condition Audience: was present N days per period). If you have previously added locations to this segment, they will all be lost when you add a list.
To remove a location, click in the row.
You can increase the active radius if you are interested in the surrounding areas rather than the locations themselves. You can choose a radius from 0.5 km to 10 km.
In addition you should determine how often your target users should be located in the area added to the segment:
Audience: currently located — The segment will include the anonymous identifiers of users who are in the selected area right now. Ads will be served to users that are located in the active radius of the location.
Audience: frequently visits — The segment will include the anonymous identifiers of users who regularly spend time in the selected area. For example, they may be people who live or work nearby. Data for the past 45 days is used when selecting users. Ads will be served to users who end up in a segment regardless of their location.
Audience: was present N days per period — The segment will include the anonymous identifiers of users who meet this condition. For example, they were present in selected locations for 10 days for the last month. You can use a week, month, or three months for the period. Several sessions in one day will count as one session. Ads will be served to users who end up in a segment regardless of their location.
You can change the active radius and the frequency of visiting a selected area at any time, both before and after adding the location.
The segment you create will be assigned the “Processing” status. Processing can take up to thirty minutes. If the coverage is at least 1000 anonymous identifiers, the segment status will change to “Finished”. Then you can use this segment to set up your ad campaign.
