Managing segments
In Yandex Audience, you can do the following:
- create segments
- edit or remove segments
- recalculate segments to repeatedly search for anonymous IDs based on source data
- manage access to segments
- view statistics for segments
Yandex Audience segments can be used for setting up ad campaigns in Yandex Direct and Adfox.
Prepared segments are periodically updated. New anonymous IDs are automatically added to them and old ones are removed. This is so that segments only contain anonymous IDs that were active in the last 30 days. The ID becomes active when a user uses the relevant app or browser. Users may change browsers, reinstall apps and even change devices. This means that segment coverage can vary over time.
Note
The segment reach is recalculated only when the segment (or a similar users segment based on it) is used in ad campaigns in Yandex Direct or Adfox.
Segments can have different statuses.
Status |
What it means |
“Processing” |
Yandex Audience is looking for anonymous user IDs based on the segment's source data. Processing takes no more than two hours. |
“Finished” |
The segment is processed and ready for use. |
“Insufficient data” |
Fewer than 100 anonymous IDs have been found. The segment will not be automatically updated, and it cannot be used for configuring ads. Try recalculating the segment or increasing the amount of source data and generating the segment again. |
“Too much data” |
Too many anonymous IDs have been found. Segment will not be automatically updated, and it cannot be used for configuring ads. Try recalculating the segment or reducing the amount of source data and generating the segment again. |
“Inactive” |
The owner of a Yandex Metrica tag or AppMetrica app has restricted or changed access rights. Request guest access to edit from the segment owner, or guest access from the app owner. |
