# By IP address

With targeting by IP, you can choose to show your ads only to visitors whose IP addresses are on the allowed list.

## Set up targeting {#settings}

1. Go to **Targeting** → **Add a targeting condition** → **By IP**.
1. Set up targeting criteria:

    - **Allowed addresses**: Enter the IP address or range of IP addresses for which you want to show banners. All other addresses are prohibited.

    - **Prohibited addresses**: Specify an IP address or a range of IP addresses for which you **don't** want to show banners. All other addresses are allowed.

   Click **Apply** and save the targeting criteria.

## How to enter IP addresses and ranges of IP addresses {#rules}

Separate addresses with commas. For example: `192.168.5.0`, `192.168.5.200`, `192.168.5.255`.

For a range of addresses, use a hyphen. For example, `192.168.5.0-192.168.5.200`.

If you need to specify a block of addresses, specify an address from one, two, or three octets. For example, `192.168.5` defines the range of addresses between 192.168.5.0 and 192.168.5.255.
