Initial configuration

When starting Addappter for the first time, you need to configure it:

  1. Go to the Settings tab.

  2. In the Store ID section, choose your city and your store (to collect statistics about the installed applications).

  3. In the Performance section, change the following settings as needed:

    • Use fast install — turn it off to stop installing applications in the background mode. In this mode, the customer doesn't have to wait until the installation process is completed. The device can be disconnected from the computer immediately after loading the files. The remaining operations are performed automatically.

      Background installation is used with Android devices. It is turned on by default. Turn it off only if applications often fail to install. Also report the problem to the support service.

    • Set priority to search drivers in Addappter — turn it on to speed up detection of connected mobile devices by the program. Using driver search priority can slightly slow down the detection of other devices (keyboard, printer, web camera, and so on) when they are first connected to the computer.

  4. In the Interface settings section, choose the way to display applications and books when the program is started: by bundles, by genre or as a list.

  5. In the Wi-Fi settings section, enter the name and password to connect to your store's Wi-Fi network. The Wi-Fi connection is needed to troubleshoot wireless device connection modules.

  6. Click the Save button.

If the computer is connected to the internet, the program update will start after entering the settings.

Problems with starting the program

The program doesn't open

Addappter may fail to start for one of these reasons:

The program was terminated with an error the previous time

Launch the task manager, find the Configurator.exe or Addappter.exe process and terminate it. Then restart Addappter.

Incorrect user settings

To reset user settings, remove the user.config file from all folders with Addappter settings. The settings are located in the folders:

  • C:\Users\CURRENT_USER\AppData\Local\Yandex_LLC\Configurator[random combination of numbers and letters]\program version\
  • C:\Users\CURRENT_USER\AppData\Local\Yandex_LLC\Addappter[random combination of numbers and letters]\program version\

You may have several folders with different program versions. Remove the settings files from all of them.

The application failed to initialize properly

This error occurs when running Addappter on a computer that doesn't meet the system requirements. Use the program only with the suitable Windows version.

“The program is not a valid Win32 application” error

This error occurs when running Addappter on a computer that doesn't meet the system requirements. Use the program only with the suitable Windows version.

Couldn't find necessary files

This message appears if the needed libraries are missing on the computer (the program may fail to detect some devices).

Reinstall Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013. If the problem persists, reinstall Addappter.

If the problem persists after reinstallation, contact the support service.

.NET framework initialization error

To start working with Addappter, you need to have the .NET Framework installed on the computer. Make sure that the .NET Framework is installed and turned on:

  1. Open the Control panel → Programs and features → Turn Windows features on or off.

  2. Find the .NET Framework component in the list:

    • If the component is present in the list and turned off, turn it on and restart the computer. If there are operating system updates available, install them.

    • If the component is not in the list, install it. You can find the installation file in the Microsoft download center.

Write to the support service if reinstalling the program didn't help.

The “Unknown error” message appears after starting the program

Try to reinstall the program. If reinstallation didn't help, contact the support service. In your message, indicate the time when the problem occurred and attach a screenshot of all files in the Addappter installation folder.
